Description here is a scan of the tutorial i hand drew (too lazy to take pictures)

hopefully it makes sense. the text in light blue might be hard to see im not sure.. but they are just side notes which should make it slightly easier to make the ear cuffs for people who prefer exact dimensions. (not me..)

i actually had to measure everything cos i usually never measure stuff. (again, too lazy and want to finish item quickly)

well, i never really came up with the idea of ear cuffs.. no idea who came up with them, but thanks to whoever it was. this is just for friends who asked for a tutorial.

I just had a random question, i made a couple of these, but now i'm thinking of just selling them off (namely to help pay for student loans) but i have changed them to make them diffrent from your tutorial. would it be okay if i sold them here on da. (sorry for the random question i wanted to ask you since it's your tutorial before i just did it)

Is aluminum wire too soft? And if so, what wire would be better / is it possible to stiffen it up? o.o

Here's mine:

yours looks beautiful!! (sry for the ancient reply) i have not used aluminum wire. i just use copper wire. that is quite soft but also ok for reshaping.

Thanks for this! Just made one. Was easy to do but I think I need softer wire haha

xian-atedstuff In reply to noche-estrellada [2010-09-04 09:58:09 +0000 UTC]

hehe, you're welcome! hmm, what type of wire do you use? softer wire may be good but don't forget to work harden it before you curl it into shape so that its stiffer

what we can call "the good tools".

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xian-atedstuff In reply to Tsubaki-Nakamura [2010-08-17 09:40:09 +0000 UTC]

hmm, maybe i should try to think of a tutorial where you can use normal around the house stuff..

though you'd def need wire cutters since you would ruin scissors almost immediately.

This is great, but how do you add beads to it?

p.s. Happy Valentines day!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xian-atedstuff In reply to TorquilRose [2010-02-14 22:26:16 +0000 UTC]

u can end in a loop instead of a spiral, and then use a headpin to add beads to it. hope that helps,
