Description
Monolophosaurus jiangi is one of the most unusual Chinese theropods. He is known for his strange crest along the skull, which gave him the name. The function of this strange fine-boned of education is unknown, because for fighting it was not good. But I decided that the main purpose is demonatration, so painted crest in bright colors (and the head, however). Monolophosaurus was discovered in the middle Jurassic Shishugou formation (Xinjiang, China). Reaching lengths of 5.5 meters, it was one of the largest predators of this formation, although his contemporary, Sinraptor dongi, grew to significantly larger sizes.
