Description
Somewhere in the territory of the North American West, about 65 million years ago. On the edge of the dead forest, the male Tyrannosaurus rex stumbled upon the corpse of a young Edmontosaurus regalis. The danger posed by the giant, makes the two opportunists Pectinodon to stay away.I decided to join in drawing landscape drawings. As of late my scanner is bust, will have to settle for a photo, albeit a little bit processed.

I think that is not definitely to say, whether lips or not. I like some of lipped reconstructions, but for myself, I prefer lipless.

Спасибо! Не знаю, я просто добиваюсь естественного внешнего вида у своих животных. Стараюсь не забывать об отпечатках внешних покровов, в данном случае это маленькие кусочки чешуйчатой кожи. Отпечатки перьев тоже в наличии, и они происходят от двух примитивных форм, дилуня и ютиранна. Это всё делает дискуссию открытой, и чешуйчатая версия, на мой взгляд, не менее актуальна, чем полу-оперённая.

Thank you! Nah, I think that this work is no need to color. In the black-and-white drawings has its charm. Though, if I hadn't drew the color pattern, the work could have been colorized.

Nice piece, but I'm bothered by the lack of lips and feathers on the Tyrannosaurus. Other than that though, it's really nice and shows how talented you are.

Thank you! Why? My Rexy have feathers. And the question on lips is very controversial, so I'll be conservative in this regard. At least with the tyrannosaurs.

Yes, but your Tyrannosaurus only has feathers down the back, it is more likely that it would have had them covering the body.

As for lips, it's controversial because many people are misinterpreting the data. There are bumps on the maxilla of the Daspletosaurus horneri specimen discussed in that paper, and the paper attributes these to some sort of keratinous or thick-skinned structure, and the illustration accompanying it shows something similar to a crocodile's jaws; this isn't entirely accurate, these rough areas do not mean it didn't have lips. In fact, when we look at animals like hippos and similar animals with massive lips we can see similar bone texture where the lips would attach to the jaws. You can get more info here:

I watched this video. It is unknown whether he had feathers, and if so, in what amount. With regards to the lips: I drew the other muzzle covers. You see, there is no crocodile-like "scales".

Well, you should know Dakotaraptor and Acheroraptor. I don't know any other dromaeosaurid from this formation. And Pectinodon is troodontid.

А как насчёт цифры? Если не весь рисунок, то бэкграунд можно набрасывать цифрой. Есть практически во всех прогах графических способы имитации карандашных штрихов.

1. Я не умею в цифре. Вообще.
2. Пока меня туда и не тянет) Карандашами и/или ручкой, которых держишь в руке, намного приятнее рисовать. Лично для меня.

Это ни в коем разе не совет, а всего лишь предложение. Тут наверное стоило бы начать с вопроса есть ли у тебя планшет (может я в прошлом спрашивал, не помню), потому что когда он есть - это тот же самый карандаш и те же ощущения. Если же его нет и в планы он не входит, то возиться с мышкой это действительно отдельный скилл и совсем другое ощущение, которое не всем нравится.

У меня есть планшет, но я никак к нему не приобщусь, не могу научиться ровные линии делать. Наверное, стоит другой приобрести, но это в мои планы не входит) А мышкой рисовать неохота, это удел избранных) Возможно, я когда-нибудь освоюсь в цифре, но не в ближайшее прям время.

Нет, я имею в виду уверенность в использовании "карандаша", прилагаемого к планшету. Когда легко получается рисовать более менее ровные линии.
