Fun Fact: Alex was formed only 4 days when Demantoid, Emerald, and Black Pearl found him.

Personality: Alex is a bit of a bashful baby. He'll sooner try to find a peaceful solution before fighting, but it's believed by the gems that it's because he doesn't know how to fight. Regardless, his pacifistic personality is respected, while he also gets daily lessons on how to defend others and especially himself.

Additional Info: All three gems know that back on Homeworld, Alexandrites are considered precious, rare, and regal. Despite being rebels, they are instilled with that knowledge and want to keep Alex safe. His power is an asset and his loving heart and trusting disposition gives him the potential to one day be a great fighter and leader.

Forest Fire Jasper is currently pursuing Alex in an effort to collect gems left in the abandoned kindergarten, and bring them back to Yellow Diamond.

As of now, Alex knows nothing of who he is or what he is. He doesn't know how to use his powers, and finds comfort in the fact that Demmy, Emmy, and BP are a lot like him. He also currently knows nothing about fusion, so when the time comes, he's in for a big surprise when his mentors form one of the powerful gem fusions they can form.

Alex formed very recently, and awoke to a quiet, desolate canyon with an eerie atmosphere.. He didn't like it at all, and stayed in his hole for the most part. When the trio happened to enter the kindergarten pursuing gem experiments that attacked them, Alex was intrigued by what he saw.. beings with stones as their life source.. Just like him. He followed them around as they talked, argued about where to go, and fought the creatures. It wasn't long before he trailed too close and Demantoid sensed his presence.

At that point, it became a hunt for the new gem, and not the experiments. Eventually, Alex managed to lose Demantoid and Emerald. But Black Pearl kept on his trail. When Black Pearl tripped, Alex stopped running and looked to him with a face of concern. Black Pearl got a better glimpse, and realized the gem was scared. He could see the fear.. the worry.. the loneliness..

Black Pearl sat up onto his knees slowly, trying not to scare him off. He enticed the gem to come to him, but Alex wouldn't budge. He stayed put and watched the Pearl. "... Can you speak?" Black Pearl asked. Alex simply nodded. BP had deducted that he could also understand him. "Will you come here?" He asked. Alex shook his head slowly. "I won't hurt you.." BP said calmly.
He stood up completely, and tried to take a step forward, but Alex took two steps back. BP pondered a moment. He thought to himself about what all gems like. Then it dawned on him. "Music. Do you like music?" He asked. Alex continued staring, and was unsure of what he was talking about. BP sighed and used his gem to summon a music box. He opened it and let the box play a soft, calming tune. Alex was intrigued and calmed by it as BP planned. BP placed the box on the ground and sat next to it. BP smiled, "I'm not going to hurt you.." He said softly.

Alex walked over to the Pearl and sat in front of him. BP asked softly "What can I call you?". Alex responds "A-.. Alexandrite.. I don't know how I know my name but.. I do." He spoke softly. BP was a bit surprised, but remained calm. "Come with me.. Demantoid, Emerald, and I will teach you what you need to learn."

With that said, Alexandrite joined BP to meet back up with Demantoid and Emerald. They welcomed the new gem with open arms and returned to their temple, ready to teach a new gem everything.
