Description For a while now I've been meaning to write a new Guide for how I draw in Sugimori's style, but I never had the time. Recently I was able to find time to make the guide, so here it is! I hope it's helpful. I'm pretty bad at giving advice (and by extension, even worse at writing guides) so if this isn't helpful at all I apologize.

Like it says at the end, if you have any questions regarding the guide, feel free to ask.

Enjoy.

Forgot to mention, I tend to use the line tool for the stuff that I make (just a habit that I picked up over time.) The lines DO come out smoother than Sugimori's but I still like the results nonetheless. Never would have thought of using the threshold feature. squeeblez.deviantart.com/art/N…

HAPPY DAY, I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO USES JASC.

I use psp 7, though, really simple and easy to use in my opinion.

Still, it takes time to master the techniques. Like, where are you gonna do this, and how exactly; that sorta stuff

About how much space of the paper do you use for the sketches or does it depend on the pokemon?

Would the paper be in Short or Long Coupon bond?
(sorry if this is a dumb question because i'm not that good with measurements)

Dude! This is f***ing awesome! I was like, 'Was Ken Sugimori cloned?!!! This is awesome! It's like he peeps into Sugimori's mind or becomes him!' when I first saw your work.

Just asking. Could I use a few of your artworks for my video template? I'm making a hack of Pokemon Black and White, so I'll be using your Unova Pokemon artworks. I'll be sure to credit you! And If I don't, have me arrested!

In truth, this kind of art is easy to understand. I think that the outlines are the hardest points. I can never get the blend in colour that mingles between distinct shading right. Does it always have to be a small line?

wow, i never thought about drawing lightly to erase easier! I'll try that!

If I showed you an example of what I did, could you show me where I went wrong? I snagged a random Pikachu outline off Google to practice, as I already know how to draw them, but less so how to color them. I was also using Photoshop. Your images are quite spot-on in terms of Sugimori's art style!

This is a perfect tutorial, but easier said than done in my case. I can create concept art, but using the computer to edit it stops short at erasing stray lines. even then I suck out, sometimes.
