    Melpomene was chosen as one of the two healer apprentices after her belated graduation from cubhood. Her training has been minimal in all areas thus far.

Species:  Tiger
    Melpomene is unusually small for a tiger cub,- which is a side-effected of her recessive trait of pseudo-melanism- but she also inherited her mother's stocky build and short legs. Her stripes are dark and packed closely together, with some lighter stripes on her face and legs which are reminiscent of her tabby tiger genes. She has heterochromia, meaning her eyes are different colours, with her right eye being a deep blue and her left, yellow. Her fur is quite short but thick and smooth.
    Po's overall disposition may look extremely stiff and sturdy but with a certain grace. She holds a dominant posture, carrying her head up high, and has an air of self-confidence, almost pretentiousness, in the way she walks despite her quiet and aloof personality.

    Shoulder Guards
Two tiered pieces of metal that make movement easy but protect her shoulders. All are similarly-shaped by the top sections have a blue jewel embedded into them, baring likeness to her mother's jewels.

    Chest Straps
This helps keep the shoulder guards in place and involves three straps either side of a jewel similar to those on her accessories. Can be worn without armour.

Simply decorative. Two symmetrical strips of red material connected to her shoulder guards and [Name Here] that run along her sides, and a smaller piece tied around her tail. Can be removed.

     Anklet
After the death of her mother in the War, Melpomene had an anklet made that matches the ones Aglaia would wear, using the same jewel she had. It holds great sentimental value, and Po rarely takes it off.

Feathers
Three sparrow feathers connected to a jewel much like her mother's. Melpomene found these not long after the War and has chosen to wear them as a reminder of her brother, Rael, who was taken by the hunters. They hold a similar appearance to his pelt.

   TRAINING

Past Training Experience:
Melpomene received little training during her cubhood other than small sparring matches and basic hunting skills. Upon her graduation, she was chosen as one of the two apprentices to become Fire Empire's new healer apprentices and has now begun training under the serval, Santino. More to be rped.

Melpomene is never the first cat to say something and wouldn't approach someone unless the situation requires it. It's not because she is scared to or because she is insecure, but because she would simply rather not interact with others. And her soft-spoken nature and monotone voice don't help since she tends to mumble and usually needs to repeat things a few times which frustrates her. Overall, it's just easier to stay by herself.

From the moment she was born she kept mostly to herself, not because she doesn't have anything to say but because she doesn't feel the need to. She is quite an emotional cub despite her guarded nature and she often collects little objects that remind her of things she wants to remember. Certain scents and the time of year can set off her sentimental side but it would be very out-of-character for her to reveal why these things make her upset and would only tell someone she truly trusts.

From a very young age Melpomene learns to question authority. Not particularly her father's, as she is very fond of Ezykiel, but she won't ever do something she doesn't strongly believe in. This could make her quite a difficult apprentice when she gets older, since if she is not emotionally invested in a task she will flatly refuse to do it- and when Melpomene refuses to do something she refuses to do it. She's as stubborn as cubs come. Pending...

Background

I grew up overnight ]]

Melpomene was born during a peaceful time in Fire Empire's history. She, her sisters Koda and Sovah, and her brother Rael were born to loving parents, Ezykiel and Aglaia, on a spring morning, and they lived in happiness for several months. These few moons of peace, however, turned out to be the calm before the storm.
As it turned out, not every cub is meant to live in the bliss of innocence for as long as they should, and many cubs- Empires and hunters alike- were left without a family member after that night. In that single night, the War of Massilia begun. The safety of the camp walls proved not enough to keep the hunters from the queens and their cubs, and no one could have fathomed the onslaught that pursued. Melpomene, her siblings and their mother were huddled in the nursery when the hunters burst in, leaving death and destruction in their wake. Myan, a jaguar huntress, stole Rael during the fray. Aglaia pursued but was struck down by a lion named Orion and, after a single hit, was left lifeless on the ground. Pending...
