I have been wanting to make Saint Oniisan fanart for a while but I only got around to it now!
At first I was thinking of drawing them in the style of the manga, but I thought that using this style would be more parodical of the Jesus and Buddha roommate concept.
I need references when working in this style, but I didn't have people to model for me so I pulled out a couple pictures off Getty Images and turned them into Jesus and Buddha. HAH.
This has been one of the most brilliant and hilarious manga I have ever read, and nothing has endeared Jesus to me like this manga has! You know, if my school made me read this manga instead of forcing Church down my throat I would have been a better Catholic. ...Maybe. Nevermind, haha.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate God or Jesus. I think they're awesome! It's what some jerks have done to Christianity that I hate.

I think Buddha's awesome, too. But he doesn't get as much smack as Jesus and God do. Mostly because his followers are way more chill.

Well, truth be tol, religion was created by men to subjugate as many people as they can, especially women (sorry,I'm an atheist and feminist)

Well, in many cases, yes, but not always. I think religion is usually created out of the necessity to believe in something bigger than yourself, because the thought that there is a larger power than you who can control the things you can't is comforting.
And then later on, there will be those who will take that and use it as a tool of manipulation.
I forgot who said it, but they did say that religion is the easiest way to conquer a nation. And it's true, as my company is a living testament to that!
I'm not exactly an atheist... More like an agnostic Catholic. I do believe that there may be something out there, and I'm not sure what it is. I just find it convenient to believe in it under the Catholic faith because I was born into it, but even so, I spit on a lot of the babble the Catholic Church throws out.

Ahaha actually, I did say it was pork at first, which sparked that argument. I dunno, I just don't see Jesus as Jewish anymore because, come on, he was rejected by the Jews as a "false prophet" and the entirely new religion that was born in his name is not Jewish! So come oooooon, slack, people!

Yeah I am, it's really cute and funny. One of the funniest parts that I have read so far is when they are in the uana with the criminal and he thinks that Jesus is a second generation mafia boss or something xD

I know seriously, the author was so creative and funny, especially how she incorporated all the religious aspects into everyday life and without trying to make the characters act in a sacriligious, she is really respectful of these two historical men, I really am enjoying it

I have been told in the past that I explained Catholicism better than anybody else that person had ever met and, another time, that I was "the only real Christian" an individual thought he'd ever met
the first was in his twenties and so was I, so I'm hoping that I hadn't made too many mistakes
the second was my psycho roommate who then spent the next couple of months waking me up in the middle of the night telling me how horrible Christianity was until I got him kicked out of the apartment by our employers (the night before which he threatened me drunk and naked)
anyway, not sure what provoked that comment....I like this picture quite a bit myself..
