History:

Sendai is direct predcessor to famous Akira class. Sendai has catamaran design (which will be used on successing Akira class), fewer phaser arrays but multiple torpedo tubes and large amount of torpedoes. It was atempt to built fully combat ship and still been capable for exploration. However while around twenty five of them were built and they perform very good during Cardassian-Federation war(all survived), production stopped in favour of new and better designs including Akira. Ship serve well together with Akira class, ten were lost during Dominion war but rest of the ships survived and were deployed on borders as patrol ships. One ship would later participate in Federation-Odonan war.
