FIRST PLACE!!!

...yeah, that is in fact Remy the pleasure horse running barrels. Hey, it's a training show, why not right? I had fun doing this nonetheless, and hey, it's one more entry than I expected to get done! At this rate I might even get more out but I'm not promising myself anything just yet...

Ileana clucked hard and growled at Remy under her breath, giving him a sharp kick in the barrel. He continued crowhopping around the warmup pen like a loon, squealing and throwing a hissy fit. “GET UP, you cow,” Ileana hissed, exasperated. Remy wasn’t the type of horse to act out, but apparently two years away from the show ring had spoiled him a little. He was getting burned out, and fast – she didn’t want to have to sit on the young stud at this show, but he was being such an asshole she had to do something. She pulled up next to the ingate where Laura was standing, wiping sweat off her brow and sighing.
Laura shook her head, trying to hold back a laugh. “You know, he might just need a good run out. He gets all tight like that and won’t come out of it, maybe just let him have some fun, huh?” Ileana rubbed her face, sighing loudly.

“What do you suppose we do, hijack the cross country course?” Ileana laughed and rolled her eyes, hopping down from the tack and slinging one of the reins over Remy’s neck.

“Nah. Barrels starts in half an hour, and hell, it’s a schooling show. I say we let him lope it out and give him the chance to loosen up if he wants.”

Ileana sighed loudly, giving the stud a good pat. “He’s your horse for the weekend, lady. You want to have some fun, I won’t stop you.”
