My first entry for ~Bridlewood-Arabians 's Eastern Classic Arabian show, which means that Angel is now qualified for Nationals!

So I did a hunter pace today with Hank, not Star, and my trainer and her horse. It was SO cool! We did a ten-mile trail, I think, in an hour and fifteen minutes. There were some EPIC cross country jumps we did and it started snowing halfway through.

You should!!! Maybe not on Mo, if he's too old or doesn't like jumping, but on a friend's horse? Does your barn have any hunters or jumpers?

I want to! We have none. At all. All Arabs. The closest thing we have to a jumping horse is a boarder's Appendix gelding, but he's western pleasure. We don't even have jumping stuff, we have a couple old wood beams and a pair of homemade standards but that's all. My hunter-jumper friend offered to talk to her trainer and see if she could get me a discounted rate for a lesson, since I told her I want to jump and she got WAY too excited.

D: At least that's something, though! I got lucky, though- hunter-jumpers and eventing are the prominent disciplines around me, but I'm literally one of two people (the other being Star's evil twin) on the local 4H hunter circuit.

I like doing the eq classes over the summer because it's about me and how I ride and not how my horse moves or carries himself. Hunter hack is always fun, though! That's the one class I'm always going to do with Star.

Well, in eq classes, the judges can't really hate on Star because he's not a stereotypical hunter

Yeah... Bevvie (that's his twin) wound up winning, Star didn't back as nicely as I would've liked him to... but I actually lost a stirrup doing the two jumps, that was fun... but both the judge and the ringmaster complimented my equitation afterward, so I didn't feel that bad about not winning.

Fun... Our judges are kinda biased by type, not so much breed... unfortunately Star isn't the ideal hunter mover so we don't always do too well XD
