Description
so, this is ~digifox she has recently come back to DA and I felt like doing something to coincide with my recent delving back into the linework of Japanese artists like Hokusai and european illustrative genius Aubrey Beardsley. SO here is a quick but calm look (i was shooting for elegant but I am still not sure what that is really in terms of my own work) to the linework.pigma brush pen (my latest toy), tombo markers, acrylic ink + digital

wow, this is really lovely! The linework flows beautifully and I like the colors you chose too. Also, you're one of the only people on here that has ever mentioned my hero Aubrey Beardsley. For that, you get a gold star

+yes, my friend. beautiful expression, right there with the oriental reference. that eye tells it all (or rather hints at it), and those lips...ouchness. true oriental feeling with the expression, crop and the sparse (brush)strokes...say it with the minimum of elements...the space within the vessel, not the vessel itself.+

It's funny because when I saw last night that you had uploaded a couple new pieces, I somehow knew that one of them was me. The title of this piece amuses me.
The blue in the lips is dreamy. The nose ring is my favourite part, maybe for the reason that vllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll stated above. The colours give me a strange ethnic look, which I really enjoy. I'm starting to love the bags under my eyes. I'll look like Bettie Davis when I'm old, but she was interesting to look at, at least. The lashes are divine. The original photo was a quick, thoughtless snap. You've managed to draw the entire universe into that one black, black eye.
I, quite simply, adore you. I'm going to steal you and hide you in a jar under my bed. I'll put a masking tape label on the jar, "mentor".

you are adorable and flattering and just make sure to poke holes in the jar-lid.
i've never quite understood your eyes, but they fascinate the hell out of me. they are very expressive but always subtle (they don't give away a lot but tell a bunch...don't ask me to explain that). I didn't realize that those were bags, I just thought they were just...well that they just were. they work in an almost Fellini-esque sense of the beautifully unique. "Well, its not conventional beauty, but it does capture your attention and it is lovely." (I'm paraphrasing). Besides, who wants to be conventional anyway. You also do cool shit with your hair.

one of your best peices i saw in my quick tour through your gallerey. i saw the asian refrence right away. that orange carries this for sure. sweeps through in an almost un-notised way.
as a side note: i love seeing bits of contemporary culture (nose) in work that takes from older artists. mixes up the past and the present quite nicely. like being fully aware of watching the history channel.

The chosen colors are so perfect. And the fact that the pic only has half of the face, adn the focus is on the eye and the nose piercing. Cool one. One of the top ones from ya, IMO.
