Description
But eventually she'll come back, and hopefully have some more fun adventures with wacky aliens, ani-men, mad femme scientists, Powergirl cosplayers, and a Guy Gardner savaging cat ( among other things missing from DC at the moment )With the New 52 faux-Power Girl and rather dull Huntress returning to 'Earth 2' to have serious encounters with the Apokaliptan badguys, i'm still kind of hoping someone at DC will try and jam in a mildly more 'Old Universe' Power Girl, even if they have to borrow the 'clone of Supergirl' origin of the animated Justice League series version to do it ( or make her a long lost sister of Maxima, or another Kryptonian survivor, heck anything really ). Wishful thinking really.
With this picture i was trying to move a little away from the static pose i've been doing a little too much of to something more dynamic, while using slightly more varied shading. Obviously this is the old Power Girl rather than the New 52 version ( since i'm not a fan of the New 52 one )

Nicely done!
I would like to see a hybrid between her later New 52 suit and her pre-New 52 suit be done, have it look like armor but keep the chain and shoulder cape; all the while keep her old self alive, like you said.

Thanks, and it's a good point that a single shoulder cape does give her a distinctly different look from most of the characters who wear capes. Still miss her old universe personality though.

She's awesome and the classic suit is always the best than New 52 Β Β

I understand how you feel,They were doing really well with the pre 52 run and then suddenly they turned her from a smart, sassy superheroine into an annoying airhead.Personally I hope they scrap the new 52(though some good thing have come out of it that they should keep)and bring back the DC we actually liked rather than this mockery of it.

Hmm.... y'know, after Crisis happened, why didn't DC take the "clone of Supergirl" route? Just curious
Also, lovely job <3

It's a good question, although after Crisis there was no Kryptonian Supergirl for her to be a clone of ( not until the early 2000's ).
When they rebooted her back then, i think they tried to have it both ways, with her remembering Earth 2 while being told she was in fact an ancient Atlantean Princess. Which i guess was done to -quite rightly- try and move her from being stuck in Supermans shadow as a female variant. As fumbled a reboot as it was, in retrospect it did make her interesting as this left her with some uncertainty to work through about her place in the world.
Thanks

Although, the whole "clone" origin could've been interesting to use...maybe if DC had to work around that

I agree, a 'clone' origin could have -and still could- work, it would put her at arms length from Superman and Supergirl, and give her a similar sense of misplacement and frustration in the world.

Yeah You know, if DC had ever decided to make an actual Earth 1 Power Girl, they could have gone that route instead the really confusing "Atlantean" thing. I mean, yeah she'd basically have Superboy's origin, but still... You think you want to write something like that?
