That's wonderful. The lighting is very skillfully done, and the fish in the foreground balance out the composition perfectly.

That dreamy expression with the slightly pressed cheek is charming to look at, the pose strengthens this. As well as the appropriately blue eyes which match the cool and mellow colours surrounding her.
The outline on certain places of her body almost appear too lite, such as on the shoulders and arms. But then again, they create a pleasant looking glow that compliment the highlights on the side of her head and back.
You have a great sense of structure concerning the human face and body, the face in particular is very believable and well defined. The swimming fish in the foreground/background bring the theme all together.
Well done indeed.

This is also very nice. It's refreshing to see someone who is both amazing with traditional and digital media. refreshing? well, it's the word I typed out, feel free to replace it with any other good adjective.

This is quite amazing. I've been just painting acrylics on illustration board but i'm wondering if you gesso your's first? I do, but i'm just curious

Thank you!
When I choose to work on illustration board, I don't gesso it, because it has such a wonderful texture of its own (I prefer cold press because it's so absorbent). If I want to work on a gessoed surface, I use masonite for its durability.
So for this one, I started by toning the whole thing with a watered-down torquoise, and then building up gradually with watery glazes, so everything would continue to be absorbed. I guess that means this was the most watercolor-like of all these paintings.

hmm okay. It definitely has a watery feel, not just because it's undersea but it feels more like watercolors. I also use the cold press illustration board. I've done watercolors on it before and it does have a nice feel to it. Thank you

Hey Adam. You don't know me, but I know you considering that we both go to RISD and we're both in the Illustration major and your senior show was awesome and...aw, what the heck, enough rambling. I love your work and this is one of my favorite of yours.
