Description
Published piece from Green Ronin's Mutants & Masterminds RPG supplement, Worlds of Freedom. Since the book is FINALLY out, I can show these pieces.Worlds of Freedom is a collection of alternate and historical settings for the M&M 'Freedom City' campaign world. It's like an 'Infinite Earths' or 'Multiverse' idea, but also has historical eras for their core setting. That's where Comf and I come in. We were given the entire 'Freedom by Gaslight' chapter to illustrate!
This is an illustration for a 'Character Archetype,' so it's just a general sort of character a player might use in a FbG campaign.
There is probably no single image from the early 1900's that I love more than the pompous, jowelly, moustachioed and oh-so-unbelievably British Big Game Hunter. When I got this guy, I knew exACTly what I wanted to do with him! Granted, I envisioned him in his latter 50's/60's, but this is for the RPG'ers out there who want a younger more strapping version.
Still, I can practically hear his hillariously overdone accent in my head. He's probably got a wife he calls 'Bunny.'
And I loved it as I drew it, but I feel so sad for that Tiger. The Explorer looks like a total jerkface, and that poor tiger looks so sad. I keep apologizing to my cat for this one

And he should be played by John Cleese.

As that character would most likely put it, "Jolly good show, suh!"

Nice art!
But if you accept a suggestion, what if replacing the guy for a sexy babe, with shorts and top, but with no weapon?

Yeah, you've got to look out for anybody with that mustache - it's a sure sign of danger

I love the folds in the clothes
Pompous, good word for him. I bet he was jolly good to go, pip pip, tally ho and none of that jiggerypokery today
The monocle is just the icing on the cake

The monocle isn't just the icing, friend - it's the extra layers that make it a triple-tiered monstrosity of cakey deliciousness and grandeur.

And what about me made you think for a second that I'd turn down ANY opportunity to use a monocle?!

oh...that was PUNful.
Get it.
I said Punful...in...instead of ...painful.
Get it.
Wait....was that a pun?
Cause it was awful...and a pun.
Nothin, huh.

It wasn't a pun. Not even a play on words. It was an irreverent Pop Culture reference. It'd be like saying your skull was as barren and cold as the icy plains of Hoth. Not a pun, but snarky as hell.
Now I'll just sit here and wait for your synapses to ride their tauntauns to your secret Rebel Base of understanding. Here's hoping the Wampa of confusion doesn't catch your thoughts unawares and club them like the helpless baby seals they are. Mmmm-- thoughts for lunch.
