XCOM's Central Officer Bradford patches himself up while on the run. Inspired by XCOM 2's latest DLC the Tactical Legacy Pack which explores some of the time in between XCOM Enemy Unknown/Enemy Within and XCOM 2 in the XCOM 2 universe. Promos included image of Central in a banged up version of the first game's armor and I just had to paint it. Some fanart for the soul.

A little backstory below about the concept around the image.

Central swore to himself as he lept the fence crossing into a small park. His fellow companions came up closely behind gasping for breath. That was close, too close. Central look down at his left arm and moved his fingers. Bleeding, maybe broken, but functional. He grabbed the roll of duct tape that graced his belt and began wrapping it around his arm like a bandage. One more thing with holes in it. Central was tired of wearing worn out clothes and armor, he was tired of keeping things together by the mere graces of tape, and he was tired of the damn hole in his boot. He wondered for a moment how it felt to not be cold or hungry, to have a good night's sleep, to not have every part of his body ache.

Central look at his companions who were still trying to catch their breaths. They had no idea who he was and what he had failed in doing. Central's thoughts briefly passed to the Commander and felt the familiar pang of guilt in his stomach. Returning the duct tape to his belt he went one by one and got his companions on their feet. One of them had retrieved his shotgun thankfully

“Let’s go, I want to see where this map leads” he said picking up the shotgun and wincing slightly as he held it in his left hand.

“It’s probably a trap” one of them replied.

“Probably, but it’s the best we’ve got and I am done with being on the run.” Central began walking across the small park and his companions without hesitation followed behind.
