XCOM is ready to take back earth in XCOM 2. Here's an XCOM Ranger spreading the word that the resistance is alive. She sports some basic armorin earth tones to help blend into the landscape. Her sword is actually an heirloom given to her by her grandfather. She has attached some cardinal feathers to the hilt though if you ask her, they're phoenix features.

Many have asked about my ranger's backstory so here it is.

Kate O’Malley was described by the local resistance in Ireland as a fiery haired siren and warrior. She could outdrink, outfight and out sing anyone she met and was always full of energy.

Kate had been only 5 years old when the alien invasion began. Living in a remote part of Ireland though she never experienced the worst of the occupation. For safety her family moved to a secluded spot on the Western Shore with others who had fled. As a child she was often seen as a bright spot around the camp singing, dancing, and listening to stories of the old days. As Kate reached her teenage years she became more restless and frustrated, wondering what life would have been like if the aliens hadn’t invaded. Supplies grew shorter as she got older and Attempts to convince others to take up resistance against Advent and the aliens were often dismissed. Many told her she had no idea what it was really like and that she had had it “easy”. Kate didn’t back down though and began to learn to her defend herself and sneak supplies from surrounding ruins and occasional Advent patrols.

Kate rose to local prominence at the age of 21 when she single handedly defended against and defeated an Advent roundup patrol with nothing but a blade given to her by her Grandfather. Her tenacity and courage inspired the local resistance and militia, tasked with the protection of those who chose to live free on their terms. Though not leading directly, having her as a symbol drew others to the cause. She is commonly referred to locally by several nicknames including “Banshee” and “The She-King” after the legendary pirate and Irish Queen Grace O’Malley. She enjoys something of a celebrity status among the local resistance cells.
