I like how she's been brought with shen's work and strives to continue and that they didn't ignore shen's contribution, so her background is quite developed. Which in hindsight makes more sense then I thought it would be originally, as its mentioned that every human manufacturing plant has been closed means the avenger not only has to develop its own resources but create their own talent more or less.

I thought it was a very fitting and nice way to still have "Shen".  I had figured that Dr Shen would have either been too old or gone by 2035.  He looked to be in his mid to late 60s in EU.  Lily Shen looks to be mid 20s maybe early 30s, so she would have been 5 - 10 years old. Makes sense that Dr Shen probably would go get her, then keep her with him 1. to teach her everything he knows and have help building the Avenger, and 2. So that she would be safe from the Aliens.   Fits Dr Shen perfectly, considering he was always thinking of the consequences of XCOM's developments.  Almost like he was thinking of what kind of world he would be leaving to loved ones.

I immediately liked Lily when I saw the Gamescom demo.  I also liked Tygan too and of course Bradford.  Wasn't too keen on the voice at first, but it's growing on me.

Bradford's voice is...debateable, however I understand how circumstances can change characteristics as well as habits, I think ultimately the voice change does make sense but it is bit too much of a leap and does take getting use to.

Right now I have a theory that vahlen is in the game but there's an option to rescue/recruit her and in turn she be on Tygan's background staff. There's talk of her being a traitor but I've seen no evidence for that so far.

And the commander was in stasis since the aliens won, wait did they just nick your own idea? Sue them!!

Bradford sounds more like John Wayne/Humphry Bogart now so I can get behind that   Most important will be that he still has his sense of humor. "Congratulations Commander, that ship is now under XCOM control, although I don't think it will fit in the hangar".  Love that line.

Yeah I think Vahlen will be around and I will drag her back screaming and kicking. She was crazy in EU, but definately not evil.  Perhaps she's our key to psionics?  I don't know.

As for the stasis, yeah I nearly fainted/exploded when I heard the demo at Gamescom.  I ran around the house screaming "I was right!".  It was a logical way to solve the what has the commander been up to for the last 20 years as well as feel like we were playing as our current selves.  Brings up an interesting physcological phenonmon for the Commander.  Imagine being the same age as the kids you knew when they were 5 and your peers are now your elders or gone.
