Back during the announcement of Sonic Forces in the 25th anniversary party, Takashi Iizuka said that what was called Project Sonic 2017 at the time was going to be "a brand new experience, never before seen" or whatever the exact terms were. So guess what! We have a brand new version of the most overused stage in gaming history after World 1-1 in Mario. Yup, we get a brand new version of Sick Ill Zone, a "never before seen" one, cause it has sand instead of water. For folks sake are you effing kidding me? If you want to build "a brand new experience", then create brand new stages! The layout of the first segment of the game is exactly the same as Green Hill, same double S-tubes, even the jump with the bunch of rings in mid-air, everything screams Green Hill, and Shun Nakamura, director of the game, says "IT'S NOT GREEN HILL!!!!!!" (while SoE says that, so kinda lame, but I'll talk about that later). Is the Sonic franchise really a joke, nowadays?Related content

No, Sega doesn't panders to the Sonic fans, only to the Classic Cultists who think everything past Sonic 3 is garbage. The majority of people in the fandom "bitches" about Green Hill Zone for the 22nd time, and now they are more and more starting to "bitch" about Classic Sonic. This whole game is nothing but hypocrisy from the concept to the execution this game scream to you "Yeah we lie but your so stupid that you'll pick the game up anyways". Obviously no one but the corporate slaves who continue to shove "Sonic fans are never happy" down our throat like that argument still hold any weights when it's the same message corporate slaves have been preaching for years. Brand new experience ? Original games ?
Β Β For now this game mostly looks like a Generation 2.0. The only news will be with the new character who will have a new gameplay.Β
For a game that has had four years of development it is really disappointing.
Especially that this is another game fanservice ... yes again a game where the characters, except Sonic and the new character, will not do anything important.Β Some can spit on Sonic06 as much as they want, at least this game was original and the majority of the characters had at least a playable level.
