WARNING: File is quite big. D:Requirements: A workable mouse/tablet, Photoshop 7 (other versions should be okay too, since there's no fancy function used)
I skipped the Hair/Eye tutorial, because I didn't have nice pic/lineart for it yet...So tutorial on cel-shade first, this is more of a walkthrough. Hahahahaha, my explainations are so vague...XDDDD; Anyway, enjoy, and feel free to ask questions. I'll try to answer, if I can. Just because I do this, doesn't make me an expert...>o<

So did you use mouse for this? Also, where can I download that program? I'm still a newb but I'm using Paint Tool SAI. I also use mouse so it's super hard for me. But since you said I could use that tool, Polygonal Lasso, I'm wondering if it would even work for me?

You've to buy it. You could use GIMP instead. It's similar to Photoshop (functions & all), yet it's a freeware!

^o^ you know, i just got a graphics tablet, and photoshop 7 and i've been trying so hard to try and learn how to color in my cels but all the tutorials i came across weren't explained very good. but YOURS has been the most helpful by far!! ^___^ Now i can finally do something and understand how to do it!thank you so much for making such a wonderful and helpful tutorial! hahaha i love you!! With the hair shading you go outside the lines of the hair and on to the face. Then how do you get the face color to show without the hair shading color?

Do you just erase the parts you drew outside the lineart with the eraser? ^^ (My hand is too shaky T_T)
