Great art work again,my friend. The S&W 1917 and the Winchester 1897 are especially well drawn, with proper proportion and realistic texture.

In the 1930s police forces needed a weapon that would defeat well-armed bandits and Colt came up with the Monitor, based on the BAR but handier to use: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/oβ¦

Clyde of Bonnie and Clyde stole a Browning automatic rifle from a National Guard Armory. he took the gun and sought off the barrel he took the gun and sawed off the barrel and butt. He liked it because it could shoot through the old metal cars of the era. Unfortunately for him when he and Bonnie got gunned down by state troopers, they not only used tommy guns but Browning automatic rifles as well.

It is called a Cutts Compensator and was a more complex version of the muzzlebrake fitted to Thompson submachine guns. It supposedly worked very well but there was a lot of side blast. One of these weapons was used in the capture (or murder) of Bonnie & Clyde.

We liked to call the M1909 "daylight gun" due to its difficulty reloading at night.

AndreaSilva60 In reply to Hashashin619 [2016-10-30 17:32:26 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes, terrible, I knew two of them, they lost their toes in the same way: Β after a march in the snow, during the retreat from Russia, they entered in a russian isba, then they removed the boots, the feet swelled up, and they couldn't put on the boots anymore, so they had to wrap the feet with Β swaddles.

Hashashin619 In reply to AndreaSilva60 [2016-10-30 20:56:46 +0000 UTC]
That's indeed terrible, without toes the feets are practically useless, one can't even hold his balance . One cold think the Alpine people should be used to that kind of temperature and be more resistant, but still the freezing cold of Russia could literally kill everyone!

Very interesting as always! I wonder how their "Montana Peak" came to be associated with the Boy Scouts? I even had one!
π: 0 β©: 2
nicholasweed In reply to artlovr59 [2018-09-17 00:28:34 +0000 UTC]
Β the Boy Scouts originated during 1914 and somewhat copied the US Army. I believe the Montana Peak campaign hat design came about sometime during the 19th century but was not adopted as a US military hat until 1912. the Spanish-American War e r a campaign hat is more of a cowboy hat and not a Montana Peak.
