Over the next four months the humanoid robot's visits to the women became more and more infrequent. It spoke less often to them when it did come around to check on them, becoming nearly silent. The spiders too began to act differently. They scurried faster across the floor, and began to collectively freeze up at odd moments for several seconds. The girls took this as an encouraging sign, though they had no proof of anything.
