A medical doctor was called in to examine the women. Their condition was unprecedented, and quite beyond what he had ever seen before. "What's going to be done with these women?" asked one of the soldiers.

"This is a highly unusual case." the Doctor replied. "As far as I know this is the only compound where such a program was initiated. Silk programs were initiated around the globe, and those women will find it painful to be weaned off the orgasm drug. We've never encountered a forced incubation program before though. I have no idea as to what effects the women might suffer should we attempt to remove the larval sacs prematurely. It might kill them, or might be cause them to suffer no ill effects at all. I will suggest however that, even if we allow these larva to be born as the previous batch did, that we continue this program as long as we are able to. There are after all many more egg sacs in the storage cells of this compound."

The soldier grimaced at the thought. "Why do that?"

"We know that the Spider-bots control a number of other solar systems. They will be back, eventually, once their shadowy Great Intelligence is informed that they lost this world. I have no doubt of that. When they do return, we'll need every advantage we can muster to fight them. Perhaps through this birthing program we can decipher their biology in greater detail. Perhaps we could genetically engineer a strain of them that is loyal to humanity, to their birth mothers so to speak, and can infiltrate the Spider-Bot world for us. Perhaps ... well, there are many possibilities that come to mind if we continue to study their genetic code in conjunction with human involvement. We must not let this opportunity slip through our grasp."

"You can't be serious!" the soldier replied. "We can't force this on anyone!"

"Hmmm. Perhaps you are right. We are after all still a democracy. Still dedicated to the concept of voluntary service and work. Perhaps some of the women would volunteer. For the good of humanity you understand." He looked expectantly at the women ...
