Description In moments the image of the Spider-Bot Empire's leader appeared, enlarged far greater than it's real size was.  It's image towered over the humanoid robot and peered down at it expectantly.

"The invasion of system 45219 has failed." it reported without preamble or emotion.  "Only two ships remain."

The Great Intelligence's face twisted in anger.  Unlike the humanoid robots, it was programmed for emotions and felt them keenly.  "Our success rate is now down to 92 percent, Construct 5541067." it replied acidly.  "This development is not optimal for the advancement of the Spider-Bot Empire.  Upload your war records to the central mission archive, then plot a course into the sun.  Your military effectiveness score is much lower than the median effectiveness scores of our other strike forces.  You are evidently defective."

"As you command." it replied as the holographic image flickered and vanished.

On the Spider-Bot home world, the Great Intelligence pondered what to do next regarding system 45219 ...

Hmmmm. Well his records survived at least. But who knows. Maybe he disobeyed the order or maybe something prevented him from carrying it out.

Thanks! Unlike my other pics  I had to do this one in three different takes/renders (background stars, middle ground giant robot, and foreground walkway).  That way I could add the grainy special effect for the hologram image only in post-production.
 
And thus ends the SpiderBot story.  At least for the near future.  I may revisit it at some point, but for now I want to concentrate on other stories.
