A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for Armada Sideswipe downloaded from Hasbro's official Transformers website, [link]

You know, I don’t think Punch/Counterpunch ever got the recognition it deserved. I had him as a kid, and I sure as hell didn’t appreciate the toy like I should have, or ‘got’ the character. It was still cool, cause it was 1 car, two robots, and that’s all I cared about. It’s still cool as hell, and fairly unprecedented in the TF world (excluding the BW ‘mutant modes’, which I’m not counting cause it usually just meant turning a head around, what other SINGLE TF could turn into 2 robots?) there’s a whole hell of a lot of cool stuff about this guy. He has one of the better and more interesting personalities in the TF mythos. I love his back story. Still, despite ALL this, he only made very brief cameo appearances in the cartoon (Both Season 4 in the US and Headmasters in Jap), was NEVER in ANY comics, and just all in all, never got any real attention. How come some of the coolest TF’s are the ones forgotten? Roadbuster, Whirl, Sixshot, Punch/Counterpunch…just to name a few. Maybe they each had a few small appearances in one form or another but they sure as hell didn’t get the attention some of the lamer characters deserved. Oh well. I’m just babbling again. Anyways, Punch/Counterpunch is definitely a cool character and deserves an homage. Hell, he deserves a new toy, one that did just what his old did, 1 car, 2 bots. When Sideswipe’s mold first showed up in prototype form, rumors flew abound as to who he would be. Punch was one of the suggestions, and I kinda liked the idea. So, here’s my attempt at it. As much as I dislike the Sideswipe mold, I think he looks really good, and really LIKE Punch in all his modes, which is the point. This is what his ‘Punch’ version would look like, complete with HIS version of the minicon.
