Description
So here's how I made the hand for all those who asked. And here's the finished product in motion
[link]
mistake caught! it's actually 52 eye bolts!
edit*
and for all those who will or have asked. It cost me under $50 Canadian to build. I don't know what it would cost in American as I don't live there, have the same stores, or really care. but you can just use google to convert the currency and give yourself a ballpark figure.

since my wallet is a little bare at the moment, just out of curiousity; how much did it cost to make this?

i bought everything spread out, but i think in total it was around $50 and most of that cost was the metal plating i added

Thank you so much for this! I was going to go buy some crappy plastic version of your hand (with far less articulations) but now I see what you've done and think I can get started on this. Your work has been so much help! I'll link the finished pictures once I'm done with it.

Nice job, i'd love to see this completely constructed out of metal rods and nuts and bolts to give it a more mechanical feel. Nicely done just the same!

so how did you get the screws in the glove without going through both sides?
(I just decided to put an elastic strap around it...)

I opened up the bottom of the glove and screwed just through the back of the glove

Quick question. Is there any possibility I could get the measurements of the spings and screws and washers and stuff? Me and my friend have really been into stuff like this and making something like this would be great practice. If you would, I'd be greatful if I could get the measurements of the materials. They eyebolts and such. And what kind of glove did you use? I imagine the washer wouldn't really make it matter, but flexibility and movement in the real hand would be crucial in the artificial one 'eh?

I'll see if I can get those measurements. The glove was actually a roofers glove from a hardware store

Question!
are the are the screws+washers the only way the hand is conected to the glove/your actual hand?
that doesnt sound very secure to me.....
did you add straps etc as well?

I don't really understand how it's steampunk. It just seems to be an animatronic hand to me, but that in itself is pretty wicked.
