This is honestly extremely, extremely helpful; I'm always looking for tutorials for marker works and yours is one of the best I've seen You kind of mentioned it when doing the first layer of E00, but do you use downward strokes for all layers, even the shading?

Also, I find that whenever I have large areas to cover, especially clothes or such, that I have a hard time to make the coloring look smooth; I always get stripes or some areas darker than others (and not in a good way). I've tried downward strokes, tiny circles, lopsided circles, random scribbling -- everything seems to lead to poor results. Sorry to bug you, but do you have any advice?

Once again, wonderful job! ^^

for the shading i use downward parallel strokes, yes, but they're usually diagonal in the way the shadow is laying. if that makes sense ^^

hmmm... thats a hard one, i really can't describe my technique cuz it's really erradic and probably not the best either i start in a crease of fold and make a quick stroke outward and go back, doing the same thing as with the face, making parallele lines, but super fast as to have the edges blend...? and i just keep doing that until it looks smooth?
baaaaaaah i wish i could explain it better >_<

thank you so much for the kind words tho darling <3

Thanks for replying I'll try what you mentioned tomorrow when I get some more practice in. I'm sure a lot of it is just inexperience on my part... (um, hopefully)

You explained everything wonderfully -- thanks again for taking the time to help a beginner like me I really, really appreciate it!

Noooo problem! I give credit where credit is due and you sure had a lot of credit due! Simply fantastic

Excellent tutorial, really, really helpful since I just got my prismas and have no idea how to use them. I never thought of using a brown pen for lineart.

I really love how you use mostly prismacolors...I'm starting to really want the brush-pen versatility of copics, but I already have 144 prismacolors, so I really need to use them...

great walkthrough!

i know! now im like, jaded against Copics a bit just cause everyone ASSUMES that's the marker i use, and everyone insists it's the best and whatever. NO. PRISMACOLORS FOR THE WIN XD

Another thing I must put on my ever growing wishlist of things I want for my birthday... FRECKIN' MARKERS! Gah!

Those effects are so unqiue. I've seen many other people use markers, yet I've always been scared to try. It tend to mess up alot. lol

And you didn't confuse me at all. You work in layers, and add effects with different things. You made it simple for me. ^^

So when I get my markers [One day. lol], this will be my guide! Thank Atomic-Clover. You are my hero. xD

Ps: Never seen the white gen pen effects before. A real cool trick to give the picture a good look. ^-^!

oh gawd, clothes
i would absolutely LOVE to help you, but i am SO BAD with wrinkles in clothes, im still practicing and learning, i really dont know how to help, cause when i draw wrinkles its always a 'trial and error' thing, i'll make a random line, and if it looks okay, i keep it and add more, if it doesnt i erase it and draw a different one...
i really am super bad with clothing folds. if there was a tutorial out there, it would be the most amazing tutorial ever for me T_T
but thank you for the encouragement love! sorry i couldnt help D:
