Mothra is a giant moth Kaiju worshipped as a goddess by the Houtua tribes of Infant Island. According to their religion, Mothra is the immortal guardian of the Earth, reincarnating whenever the world is threatened. In 1961, Rolisican entrepreneur Clark Nelson led an expedition to Infant Island and discovered a large egg in the Temple of The Moth. Killing any native that tried to stop them, the expedition crew stole the egg and the precious artifacts from the temple, taking them back to Rolisica Industries in New York. The High Priestesses, Moll and Lora traveled to America to plead for the return of the egg, but were kidnapped by Nelson as well. Using their psychic connection to their goddesses, they summoned Mothra to New York City. To appease Mothra, the U.S government forced Nelson to return the egg and release the twin priestesses.
When the Guardian of Infant Island had emerged from her place of worship within the mountains of Infant Island, she would fight off the invading Ganimes vigorously, using everything she had against the four crustaceans. Their shells would burn at her golden scales, her blinding god-rays blinding them as their eyes evaporated from the raw heat. Providing time as the natives had gone on to escape into the highlands, Mothra would strike as with her numerous pincers, slashing the Ganimes apart, one by one as her pincers would severe crab shell and claws, spilling ammonia-tainted blood.
After disposing of the several crustaceans, utilizing her scales to purify the area of the toxic fallout from the Ganime's blood, Mothra was observed disappearing into the skies as the natives whom had survived the encounter cheered and continued their worship of the massive lepidopteran. Monarch had effectively tracked Mothra to be moving north, presumably looking to gain the assistance of one of the other alpha kaiju. Hio and Mana would also manifest towards Ishiro Serizawa's team and testify that Mothra had sensed the abnormality in Earth's ecosystem, and that as a response, she had went to sought out one of Earth's old Guardians, residing in the ruins of Atlantis. This did however raise concerns as Mothra had not been seen with Gamera since their battle against Bagan in 1996.
On the other hand, Godzilla had been detected emerging in The Sea of Okhotsk, en-route towards Iwato Island. Rodan still remains at large despite unconfirmed sightings ranging from Australia to Okinawa.
Shield-like reflective scales. Capable of even redirecting Godzilla's Atomic Breath. Interestingly have an acidic effect on YOG-infected mutations.
Capable of Telepathic communication with most lifeforms on Earth
Hallucinogenic Spores. Mothra's spores are also capable of suffocating and inducing hallucinations on those she inflicts them on.
Bio-Luminsecent. Mothra's Wings are also capable of emanating a blinding light, utilized to either blind or daze opponents.
Frontal four legs are similar to those seen in Kamacuras, allowing for Mothra to delivering painful slashes, even to the most armored kaiju.
Reincarnation. Mothra is currently in her third reincarnation cycle since her discovery in1961. Since then she's acted as a protector of the natural world alongside other ancient guardians.
currently represented by two 11 inch tall twin priestesses, Hio and Mana who claim to be Mothra's representatives towards humanity. Belonging to an unknown race on Infant Island called "Shobijin".
Highly intelligent. Mothra is believed to essentially be at if-not beyond human level intelligence as there is no question in regard to her being sapient.
Surprisingly agile once airborne, capable of moving almost at Rodan-level speeds.
Mothra's Larval form can emit a specialized silk that can harden into a similar substance to concrete, calcifying within the span of an hour, as well as forming telekinetic shields.
