  In 1933, Carl Denham had sent a filming expedition to one of the last undiscovered places on Earth, a chain of islands rumored to be inhabited by prehistoric animals that survived where prehistoric animals survived the extinction event that killed off the dinosaurs and continued to evolve. And at the top of the food chain, was a kaiju descendent of the Gigantopithecus, Kong. Intrigued by the legends of the god-beast named Kong, Denham and the crew of the Venture sailed to the island to film the island and its mythical god. Upon arrival, the lead actress Ann Darrow was kidnapped by the natives and offered as a sacrifice to Kong. Many iterations of this story would circulate, but the most prominent and widely-believed iterations was when Darrow was rescued, Kong pursued her rescuers back to the shore where he was subdued and then brought back to New York City to be put on display. When Kong escaped, he took Ann Darrow to the top of the Empire State Building, where he was shot down by biplanes and fell to his death, leading towards the extinction of the Kongs. This was not the end of the Kong species however.

  Many decades later, with Skull Island now forbidden from being observed by the general populace, Monarch would launch an operation in 1962 to the neighboring islands upon recent seismic activity, most prominently, Mondo Island [ The second largest island in the chain]. During this expedition, they did not just find more Kongs. They had found the "King Kong", the largest of the Kong species at a sizable 80 metres to which it roamed the island as the alpha and protector amongst other smaller Kong specimens that were theorized to have recently emerged from the Hollow Earth, thus the seismic activity. Monarch's expedition, headed by Bill Randa would eventually lead to Monarch's establishment of an observation facility on the island in 1976, Outpost 33 which intended to preserve and observe this unique ecosystem.

  While there would essentially be instances of isolated attacks on the facility, such as the infamous 1967 assault by the terrorist organization, The Red Bamboo, with the operation spearheaded by Dr. Hu, King Kong and his kind would remain mainly undisturbed, that is until decades later, following the string of YOG-infected kaiju attacks across the planet, Kong would go on to essentially become much more active in his patrol of the island, more often leaving his troop in their lair in the island's peaks. During one patrol, he was assaulted by one of the numerous Gorosaurus that inhabited the island's lowlands, to which the conflict, though easily resolved when Kong had broken the neo-dinosaur's jaws came to an interesting end as it would result in Kong inadvertently opening a previously unseen cavern. While Monarch staff initially thought that this was a possible new Mondo Island Emergence Point [abbreviated as MIEP], this would come to be seen as something much more fascinating however as Kong would be observed later on leaving the cavern with what appeared to be a massive egg in his arms.

  Despite all attempts to retrieve it, Kong and his troop have been observed to be highly protective of the egg, as they won't let anyone near it. As for why this is, it's highly unknown. Until this egg hatches, Whatever resides in the egg itself is an absolute mystery. However, it is noted from Dr. Ann Darrow, granddaughter of the actress from the original incident that the egg is emitting frequencies interfering with radio equipment, making communication difficult.

  In addition to this, it has been noted that Gorosaurus activity has gradually risen since the egg was unearthed by Kong, to which defensive countermeasures had been placed to assist Kong in defending both the troop and the observation facility from the massive theropods.

Documented Attributes:
Highly Intelligent. Has been observed using sophisticated strategies and able to use resources in dangerous situations.
Able to create and use tools and weapons. Has been observed spear-fishing for "Oodako" or Mire-Squids within the island's lakes.
High Durability, Agility and Stamina
Immense Strength. Possibly capable of going toe-to-toe with Godzilla in combat.
Despite the presence of other Kongs on Mondo Island, King Kong is essentially unique in that he's the largest and most powerful of his troop, accompanied in that he is the only one that displays bio-electrical properties.
According to Hank Marlow, a castaway who was stuck on Mondo Island for decades, the Iwi stated that Kong and Gorosaurus' kind were ancient rivals that represented the balance of the island, often fighting to counteract the other in a never-ending struggle
Interestingly enough, the Kong species may have once been worldwide as per fossil discoveries in Borneo, Indonesia, Faro Island, and interestingly Tibet.
Prefers to intimidate opponents if he can. However if the opponent is much larger, he will attempt a fatal strike first.
Observed having a particular kinship with the Iwi People population present on Mondo Island. Observations demonstrate that Kong can communicate with the Iwi via an unknown variant of sign-language.
Capable of utilizing bio-electrical properties on rare occasion. This ability however appears to be some form of built-in last resort against much more resilient opponents.
