Description
On July 20 (or 21) 356 BC, a young boy named Alexander was born in Macedonia. Alexander showed amazing potential to everyone around him, including his father, King Philip II of Macedon. At age 13, Alexander tamed a wild horse that no man before had been able to tame named Bucephalus. This, along with several other incredible feats, earned him incredible respect from his father and his allies, the Templar Order. And pretty soon, the Templars realized Alexander's full potential, and they entrusted to him a Staff of Eden, which Alexander used to conquer his empire undefeated, and to earn himself the title of Alexander the Great.
But that wasn't the only thing that made Alexander such an impressive general. There's evidence to support that Alexander was actually what we now call a Sage. Sages are a rare “breed” of human that are the result of genetic tampering by the Precursor, Juno. Back during the War between the Isu and Humans, Juno tried to transfer the consciousness of her dying husband, Aita, into a human body. This ultimately failed however, and so Juno made it so that, once in a blue moon, a recessive gene would activate in a random human individual during embryonic development, causing that individual to have the appearance, and eventually memories and goals, of Aita. These Sages are easily identified because they have two different eye colors and usually two different pupil sizes. These Sages often become ruthless conquerors and leaders that trample anyone in their way, just like Alexander the Great.
Alexander's father had already conquered all of Greece, but once Alexander took the throne he continued the conquest eastward and destroyed the Persian Empire as he did. He led his men across the lands, conquering, oppressing, and pillaging as they went. And because of the powerful Piece of Eden that Alexander held, he was able to do this without losing a single battle. The local Assassins saw this, and of course they couldn't stand for it. They could not and would not stand by as the Templars swept across the land, destroying people's lives and freedoms for their own glory. So as Alexander built his tyrannical empire, the Assassins fought to tear it down and save the people.
Alexander continued to expand his empire to India, but his army eventually became so tired that he was forced to stop and return westward for supplies. As he went, he found that several of his generals had turned against him, either because of personal greed or because the Assassins persuaded them to their cause. Alexander had most of these traitors to his empire executed. Eventually, Alexander arrived in Babylon in 323 BC, where he had a feast in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar II. While he was there, the Babylonian Assassin, Iltani, infiltrated the palace and poisoned Alexander, who died on June 13th because of this. Iltani grabbed his Staff of Eden and brought it back to her fellow Assassins, who hid the Staff away where no human hands would ever touch it again. With Alexander's death, his empire crumbled, and the Assassins worked hard to eliminate the remaining Templar influence in the land.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Eurasia, another Templar force was beginning its conquest. A Republic that spat on its own ideals of democracy. It continued its expansion into Europe. The local tribes would not stand for this, and they sought the aid of the Assassins to protect their freedoms from the tyrannical expansion of the corrupted Roman Republic.
