Description

Civilizations blossomed all around the world, including in Egypt, along the Nile River.  And just as in other places, the Templars tried to gain power here as well.  And in 1388 BC, the powerful Templar, Amenhotep III was placed on the throne as Pharaoh.  Worried that Egypt’s Hebrew slaves would become too numerous and rise up against the Templars, Amenhotep ordered a mass genocide, demanding that all of the Hebrew baby sons be slaughtered.  One Hebrew woman, Jochebed, was able to hide from the soldiers long enough to place her third child, Moses, in a basket and send him down the Nile, hoping that he'd find safety from the Templars’ abuse.  Moses was eventually found by Amenhotep’s daughter, Iset, who took the baby in and raised him as her own.

Moses grew up in luxury with the Templars, living beside his “family members” such as the future king, Akhenaten.  He never even thought about those he thought below him, including his own people that were suffering in slavery.  That is until one day, when he found himself caught in the middle of the Hebrew village, and he saw the horrors they faced and learned of his true heritage.  In denial at first, Moses couldn't believe what the Templars were truly doing to these people.  And eventually, he couldn't run from it anymore.  He saw a Templar abusing a slave one day, and Moses killed the torturer to save the slave.  The Templars, including his adoptive family, were shocked.  Moses couldn't believe himself either, and ran away from the kingdom and put himself in exile.

Moses traveled for days, and eventually found a camp of Hebrews living happily outside of the Pharaoh's reach.  They took him in, and Moses learned that they were Assassins, freedom fighters who sought to end the Templars’ reign.  Moses was hesitant to join them at first, but then something happened that made him realize that he had to stand up to the tyrants that he once called family and liberate his people.  He discovered a Precursor temple under a mountain.  Within it was a Staff of Eden, which gave him a message that he believed was sent to him by God, telling him to join the Assassins and free his people from Egypt.  Realizing his destiny, Moses took the powerful artifact and set off with his wife to fight the Egyptian Templars.

He used his Staff’s powers to bring horrible plagues against the Templars.  But no matter what, Akhenaten, who had become Pharaoh after his father's passing, would not set the slaves free.  Eventually, in 1334 BC, Moses was forced to enact the final plague: the death of every firstborn son of the Egyptian Templars.  Wrought by sadness, Akhenaten finally allowed Moses and the Assassins to take the Hebrews out of the kingdom and to the land that their God had promised them.  However, once the Hebrews reached the Red Sea, they found that the Templars were following them with intent to kill.  Moses, thinking fast, used his Staff to part the Sea so that the Hebrews could pass.  Once they were safe, Moses used the Staff again to close the Sea, drowning all the Egyptian Templars, including Akhenaten.  Moses continued to lead his Hebrews to a safe land where they could finally be free and happy.

Some native-born Egyptian Assassins had stayed behind to defend their home.  Like when Akhenaten was succeeded first by his daughter, then by his son, Tutankhamun, who would later be known to future generations as King Tut.  The Assassins killed Tutankhamun in 1323 BC, and continued to eliminate any Templar tyrants that tried to take power in Egypt.  However, the rest of the world was still threatened, as when Mesopotamia was once again threatened by a powerful Templar force, one of the most brutal armies the world had ever seen up to that point.

I remember that movie, it was pretty cool ^^ Like, I'm not a religious person but it's still an inspiring story
I probably won't be doing one for that time period.  First because my rule for this series is that I won't go back and add any time periods that I passed until I reach 2017.  Secondly because I have a lot of Christian friends on here and I have very little knowledge of Christianity's initial start aside from the usual few bible stories you hear growing up.  I know they'd understand and they're super nice and wouldn't mind if I messed a few things up, but still
I did mention the influence the religion had on the Byzantine Empire picture though, and a small bit on the Roman pictures.

Okay I understand but I just love how your literally creating your own AC universe out of historical events and that's what I love Not to mention how you draw is amazing I can barely draw a person let alone something like this. I'm also looking forward to see how you interpret the Moon landing in 1969 with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin two of my fav historical figures. Also that Stone Age assassin creed pic you made, amazing and I'd definitely like a game set during the Old Stone Age.

Well, to be fair, most of this is straight out of real AC lore I'm pretty sure my personal headcanons make up a very small percentage of the descriptions in the ones I've done thus far.  Like, usin the moon landing example, in the games it says that NASA is a Templar organization, and the moon landing was a Templar plan to retrieve an Apple of Eden that was stuck on the moon.
Glad to hear you still like these though ^^

Well I knew that most of the actual AC stuff was based on Lore but still for example the Colonial America pic it had Kahante one of your OCs as on it (also she's so kawii as fuuuckk). Hmm NASA was a Templar organization... NOOOO WHY NASA SENPAI!!! But what about the astronauts themselves?

Lol Kahente is still my baby XD I had a lot of fun writing the fanfic she starred in.
If I remember correctly, Buzz Aldrin was a full-on Templar, whereas the others I think just had ties to Abstergo in general.  They might all have been Templars though.  I'd have to check again

XD Yeah, the games have a tendency to challenge one's viewpoints when playing them
Come to think of it, the entire Cold War part of AC lore was pretty heavily dominated by Templars.  Like, they nuked Japan, they oppressed the citizens of Russia, they created discriminatory paranoia in the US, and they even killed Kennedy.

True true but we gotta remember these are just video games. But yeah we got Stalin being a douche in the Soviet Union, we got the Red Scare but wait why did the Templars kill JFK what did have to gain by killing one of the greatest presidents of all time (also would the assassin's support JFK or...) was it because he didn't want to have a war in Vietnam or something else.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-14 23:44:46 +0000 UTC]

Well obviously XD I'm not gonna mistake a bunch of video games for actual history (although they are helpful stories for memorizing history test answers lol)
In the games, it says that Kennedy had an Apple of Eden that the Templars wanted.  That, coupled with the fact that his policies interfered with their plans for world domination, led to the Templars killing him so that they could replace him with their agent, Lyndon Johnson.

Vaultboy1011 In reply to Avapithecus [2017-01-14 23:49:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I know, just busting your chops XD. Hmm so I guess that means Lee Oswald was a Templar agent so wait if the Templars wanted Kennedy dead does that mean the Assassin's supported JFK. I mean he was the one who spearhead the Civil rights act during the Civil Rights movement ir was only after he was killed in which LBJ passed it. Speaking of LBJ damn another good president now a Templar... it hurts so much. I know for a fact Nixon would be a Templar but LBJ?

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-14 23:57:39 +0000 UTC]

Lol XD
It doesn't say anywhere in the games that the Assassins were definitely allied with Kennedy, though I'm pretty sure he was a friend of theirs.  I think it was more of a shared goals kind of thing for them.  Enemy of my enemy and all that.
Yeah, a lot of presidents from the 1900s onward had Templar ties in one way or another in the lore.  FDR, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, and Bush Jr. too.

WAIT FDR.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME HIM TOO! DAMN YOU UBISOFT IS NOTHING SACRED!!!! I mean he brought the Nation out of the Great Depression, he created many new jobs, he gave the nation hope when we had none and guided us through WWII HE is my favorite president of all time. Don't tell me Ronald Reagan was a Templar too.

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-15 00:21:27 +0000 UTC]

Nothing wrong with that viewpoint my friend He did definitely do some good things, I feel like it was a matter of the methods.  Templars were always used as a metaphor for power and the powerful in the earlier games, whereas the Assassins were metaphors for freedom and the common people.  FDR used a massive amount of power and policy to regulate the country, even if it was for a good cause.  It's a matter of perspective when it comes to choosing your heroes or villains
Reagan actually hasn't been mentioned at all in the series yet come to think of it.  I feel like he'd probably be a neutral party in between Assassins and Templars though.

*Sigh* I guess you have a good point my friend, I guess I just got a little frustrated is all. I mean some of my favorite historical figures are turning out to be templars. Why must the feels be hitting me. It's like Harambe all over again XD.... I'll stop it's a DEAD meme I know. But some of the greatest presidents were during the 1900s, Roosevelt (Both Theodore and FDR) Woodrew Wilson, Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ, Regan and now most of then in the AC games, save for a few are Templars.

XD Memes never truly die, they skitter away and lie in wait to be reborn once again.
In all fairness, a lot of the ones we mentioned so far weren't full on members of the Templars, they just had strong relationships with them.  I know that's not much, but hey it's something lol
If it cheers you up, Lincoln canonically was a friend of the Assassins, as was Ulysses Grant.  The Assassins even hunted down John Wilkes Booth after the Templars sent him to kill Lincoln.

Here here! ^^
God, I really want to write a fanfic set in World War 2.  Like, I know exactly what I'd do for it character and storywise.  But I don't like using major major events for stories because there's a really good chance Ubisoft will do it one day XD
Heck, I was originally gonna have "Nothing Less" star my great (×4) grandfather during his time in the Civil War.  But then I figured they'd do that setting eventually and my ancestor didn't fully fit the role I'd want for a Civil War protagonist and so eventually I changed it to being about his mother twenty years earlier.

Hey I say go for it man. Yeah sure Ubisoft might do a game someday ser in WWII buy still if love to see that you know. I always wanted to a fanfic where the assassin is a polish jew and he fights in the polish resistance and helps the allies woth major operations across Europe ultimately ending with the Battle of Berlin and the killing of the Charlie Chaplin looking ass himself Adolf Hitler. But I just never found the time to do it. So you know what man I say you should do it.

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-15 01:11:43 +0000 UTC]

Maybe some day lol
I always had the idea to have it be Ava's great-grandfather or something and have him be a German Jew who escaped a camp as a child and fled to France, where a family of Assassins adopted him in.  Then his adoptive sister/girlfriend would go to Poland one day and disappear because Hitler began marching his forces in at the time she left.  So the protagonist sets out to find her and along the way he discovers the existence of the Assassins and Templars and works to save the world and all that good stuff.
Maybe one day I will do it ^^ For now I've still got Project Thunderbird to finish XD I've got like the next five stories planned already.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vaultboy1011 In reply to Avapithecus [2017-01-15 01:16:35 +0000 UTC]

That's sound like a great story concept. But they you got other projects first so that's completely understandable. But I got a question with the AC historical time period pics, do you plan on the doing pics on the succession wars. Like the War of the Spanish Succession, War of the Austrian Succession? I mean the first one was concurrent with the final years of the Golden age of piracy.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-15 01:21:10 +0000 UTC]

I don't think I'll be doing ones on those specifically, since a lot of what happened in them was mostly build up to later AC stories.  Like, I'll certainly mention the War of Spanish Succession for the Piracy one.  And the ones on the Maroon Rebellion and the Seven Years' War will mention some of the Assassin/Templar affairs during the War of Austrian Succession, such as Haytham's journey to find Jenny and Achilles's relationship with John de la Tour.

Vaultboy1011 In reply to Avapithecus [2017-01-15 01:24:06 +0000 UTC]

Okay that seems reasonable. Though personally I think to you should do one when you get to it of course, the Roaring Twenties/Mobster era and the Wild West. I mean mafia assassin's like just Al Capone as a assassin.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-15 01:28:03 +0000 UTC]

Now those definitely settings I plan to do for this XD I love the Roaring 20s setting.  Flappers, jazz, mafia, F. Scott Fitzgerald.  All that awesome stuff XD
Fun fact: I actually had an ancestor who worked as a bootlegger in Chicago around that time.  They found his body mysteriously shot dead at the bottom of an elevator shaft one day.

Yes F.Scott Fitzgerald and The Great Gatsby one of the greatest piece of Literature ever. Oh shit they did, yo that mysterious. 👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-15 01:42:43 +0000 UTC]

Those'll get pics as well ^^ The Wild West was actually another fanfic setting idea I had a while ago.  I figured Ava could have an ancestor from one of the Western tribes and they'd be like the child of a town sheriff and a Native woman (probably Apache) and they'd join the Assassins to take down Templar corruption or something cool like that.  I eventually added that to the list of ideas I'd put aside for now, but it still sounds super cool ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vaultboy1011 In reply to Avapithecus [2017-01-15 01:45:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it would be so cool. Gunslingers and saloons and outlaws and train robbery and it's so cool. America's Westward Expansion 1868-1892 is what the era is officially called but I'll always call it the wild west.

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-15 02:10:08 +0000 UTC]

During the 1910s, there was this big movement where a bunch of different explorers tried to map the continent and reach the South Pole.  A lot of the expeditions failed and a lot of people disappeared in mysterious ways, though there were a few who made it and returned to tell the tale.  They called the time period "The Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vaultboy1011 In reply to Avapithecus [2017-01-15 02:13:29 +0000 UTC]

Ohhhhhhhhh you mean the different explorers that tried to reach the South Pole and the many different nations at the time claiming parts of Antarctica for their own okay. Like Ronald Amundsen in 1911. Okay I see you. But how would you fit that in the over arching story of the Assassin-Templar War?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Avapithecus In reply to Vaultboy1011 [2017-01-15 02:20:01 +0000 UTC]

Yep, that's the one!
I kinda figured it would be like the Templars discover there's a Precursor temple at the South Pole or something so they have a few of their men sneak onto the expedition teams and thus the Assassins realize they have to follow and stop them.
Something like that XD I'd imagine it would be a very Tomb Raider-esk game.

The costume of the Assassin looks so cool
The way you are telling a story in the picture
With the uses of the quote from the book of exodus Is great.
I would love to see this happen seeing the events of Moses' time in Egypt

I admit, I had a hard time thinking up a setting for an Ancient Egypt picture.  Most of the information I could find on the time period was very vague and not generally useful for a story.  But then I remembered the Exodus story and it all kinda fell into place.  I had a lot of fun with this pic, and doing the research actually did start to get me interested in Ancient Egypt.
