So I figured I should go ahead and draw Bayek since I'm just as hyped for Assassin's Creed: Origins as everyone else in the fandom XD Grant it, I know I shouldn't overhype it because then I'll end up being disappointed. Honestly, as long as we don't get another Syndicate I'll probably like it fineTo be entirely honest, I was kinda disappointed when I first heard it was gonna be set in Ptolemaic Egypt instead of… you know, ancient Ancient Egypt XD All this talk from Ubisoft of how it's soooo far back in time that it forced them to rethink the entire concept of what an Assassin is… and it's not even set before the most ancient piece of lore we have
But oh well. As long as it's a good story and fun characters, I won't mind
Seriously, you know they just ran out of ideas when they have you kill the guy who invented the kaleidoscope XD Not that you would know that he did because THE GAME DOESN'T TEACH YOU.
But I digress lol
Anyways, I am really excited for Origins and I'm excited to see what they do with the story. I really hope that Bayek has some sort of fatherly role to Amunet in the game. How awesome and cute would that be?! >u< Omg I would love that!
But I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's in store ^^

Same here. I was expecting them at least go farther back than the earliest Assassin they created in the span of written history (Darius killing Xerxes). My personal hopes was to have it set during the reign of Akhenaten, and maybe have the dlc be set twenty years later during the reign of King Tut. But oh well. What we're getting still looks pretty cool and hopefully they'll learn their mistake from Syndicate and actually implement a lot of historical stuff into the story. I personally really want to be able to hunt down Pompey and cut off his head and send it to Caesar as a warning not to mess with the Assassins XD

There's a rumour that there may be a sequence when we get to play as Darius. Which would be really cool!
I actually hoped for that too. I also hoped it would be a prince of Egypt like story lol.
But I love the fact that Bayek is a Medjay which gives him the reason to have Senu. Most medjay's had animals most commonly monkeys, but Falcons were used a lot.
That might actually happen, the creative director has already mentioned that Caesar was in Egypt, hunting Pompey at the time, he did say that Ptolemy killed him. But I doubt the "boy King" would do anything himself, I reckon Bayek would be he one to do it.
That's if he doesn't disagree

I've heard that rumor too, but I don't think it holds water It's all based on an imbd thing saying that an actor was going to be playing someone named Darius in the game, and nothing else. And since Darius was a pretty common name back then, I have my doubts. It would be cool though

YESSS!!!!!
The details I have seen are just so beautiful and great, also that it is possible to control the eagle
Yeah, even though it is a little bit more fantasy (giant snake) than the older Assassin's Creed games, it still looks great
No problem

It certainly looks like they went all out in creating an awesome game world ^^
I've heard that the snake from the trailer is actually meant to be some sort of hallucination mission though. Either way, it's gonna be a pain to fight it XD

A nice world to explore is something wonderful.
And all the people crying that it wouldn't be an "Assassin's Creed", because the world will have more details, have some problems.
I mean: Assassin's Creed and a big world to explore!
True XD It is always terrible if you can not see correctly in a game (and in real life XD)

i love this new game already since it go awesome with my Head-cannon. (prologue) year 1915 on April 25., an Australian sheep farmer gets into some family/governmental problem and decides that joining the fight on Gallipoli will solve it and so he joins the light horse and is then sent to Egypt with the rest of the infantry divisions and light horses to train, training in Egypt serves as the tutorial of my "game" and it turns out military officers and Egyptian assassins have been eying on him because they know he is a descendant of Bayek and then the Egyptian assassins induct him and then he follows the footsteps of Bayek similar to assassins creed revelations and that will serve about 1/3 or 1/2 of the games story and then after all that he gets sent to Gallipoli.
also i was kinda confused on how they said that this is the origins of the assassins because i thought that they go way back.

Cool beans
And it's not technically the origins of the Assassins themselves. The Assassins were created back during the First Civ era. This game is just about how the Creed kinda solidified into the form we know today. It's more of a reformation than an origin story.
Though I would've preferred if they went way farther back too XD I was hoping to stab King Tut

Ptolemaic Egypt was still pretty Ancient Egypt if I remember right for the times. The later Ptolemies went native heavily. Even Ptolemy III patronised the native Egyptian religion more liberally, and started the gradual "Egyptianisation" of the Ptolemies. Egypt really lost it's original culture first under Rome, and then when the Arabs came rolling in.
Now I DO what to see the more Hellenistic side of Egypt at this time, and Romans coming in.
What we are seeing is the modern versions of Assassins and Templar killing each other. All the stuff before going back to Darius and Xerxes, that was more likely proto versions of the two orders. I mean, how much did the Assassins and Templar themselves really know about the actions of the last era and so on before the Animus?
I have heard we will be going back to more Ancient Times in Egyptian History, and even to Napoleonic Europe. (Not as Arno, and not the Rosetta Stone, but I am sure something else Napoleon took from Egypt and Egyptomania that was going on at the same time.) So there is hope for Ramses, Tutankhamun, Akhenaten, and all that.

I know, and it does seem cool having these three giant ancient civilizations colliding in one place. I guess I was just hoping for like pure Ancient Egypt, ya know? Like, full on Egyptian culture instead of a filtered Greek version of it. But that's a nit pick honestly. I remember learning a lot of famous events and people from that time and place and if we get to participate in them, I'll be satisfied
And I mean, the Assassins and Templars have existed since the Precursor era 75000 years ago I feel like they would've exited the "proto" stage during the ice age lol.

I know the feeling. I still have high hopes of ACO fixing all the issues that been ruining Assassin's Creed for some time. (And that....movie.)
And yes, I just now people still upset at ACO being 'Start of the Assassins' and all that.

But... I like the movie XD
Like I'm not saying it's good. Far from it. But it's a lot of fun to watch and honestly I thought all the lore issues were minimal and/or ignorable.
I know it sucks, but it's a guilty pleasure for me

Eh, true.
The Spanish Inquisition was a good era to play with (And not something you learn too much about besides the first years of it.)
Also, your thoughts on Juno and how Assassin's Creed gone with her? I like the idea of a bigger villain, of a Isu out for blood. And the fact the Assassins and Templar are only KNOW figuring out her out while she close to her plans.

Avapithecus In reply to Historyman14 [2017-07-01 23:30:11 +0000 UTC]
I like Juno as a villain, though my interest has slowly decreased as she has done nothing but sit in the Grey and stroke her own ego ever since Desmond set her free XD I dunno. She's kinda like Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You know she's this big bad monster of a villain that you should be terrified of, but she kinda loses her umph when all you see her do is wait and gloat lol.

I'm OK with that. I like a good built up, and having her play puppet master while the two orders still murder each other.
MCU has done right with the Thanos built up so far. AC need to take notes from them.
