So, the whole AC fandom is constantly chatting about AC Empire and I figured I might as well add in my own thoughts on it as well. So here we go:

...I don't think it's real.

Yeah. My policy with things like this is that I don't believe any new addition to the series is real until it's been officially confirmed. And I don't mean confirmed as in like “Oh look! Marcus’s phone said Empire on the screen for a split second in that one trailer! Ancient Egypt game confirmed!” kind of thing. I mean confirmed as in Ubisoft as a company coming out to the public and saying “Hey guys, great news! We're coming out with this grand new AC game set in Ancient Egypt called AC Empire! You guys’ll love it!” kind of thing. That's just how I approach rumors. That's how I approached the new Ezio Collection before it was confirmed, same with Unity and Syndicate. But that's just me. And even if I think of Empire as just a rumor, I still think it's cool to speculate what an Ancient Egyptian AC game could be like ^^

To me, there's a few possible time periods for such a game to be set. The first that comes to mind is during the reign of the Pharoah Shabataka between 702 BCE and 695 BCE. Because one of Clay’s glyphs in AC2 talks about how he used a Staff of Eden to rule Egypt, and Ubisoft suddenly seems to be really interested in addressing all of the stuff Clay put in his glyphs (Desmond’s son, Napoleon's Apple, etc.)

Another idea would be approximately around 1334 BCE, during the reign of Akhenaten or maybe later during the reign of his son, Tutankhamun. Because Akhenaten was kind of like the Kim Jong Un of his time, what with tyrannical police force and just an overall evil insanity, and I think he'd be a good antagonist. And since a lot of people think that Empire's protagonist would be an ex-slave, that makes me think about the whole Exodus story with Moses and his Staff of Eden (again, Clay’s glyphs). So maybe they could work in something like that.

That's just my theories. But again, I take the whole Empire/Ancient Egypt stuff with a grain of salt. For all I know, Ubisoft’s next game could be set in WWII or the Protestant Reformation or something. Until anything’s confirmed, I can't say. Still fun to ponder over though ^^
