yo.....excellent work. Katana is my favourite weapon as i'm martial artist.

I'm fascinated to know how you made the threads on the grip. all the cloth looking stuff you did is impossible for me. I'm new to maya and 3d modeling in general. If you've the time, could explain, basically how the threads were made? excelent gallary

Very interesting. I'm pretty beginner myself with 3d modeling. I've only made a few things since i started a bit ago. I appreciate the fedback, very informative. I love to see the other ideas people yous as i love to go back and try to replicate it and add in my own thoughts.

there are soo many techniques for everything in 3D, it never ends...and where it ends ppl create more of their own.
the more you know....the more tools youll have for creating your modeles easly and more efficent.

Looks good! I don't know much about this 3D stuff but one thing - I'm sure you'll make it shiny, but if you're going to be doing that, make it shiniER. Shiny swords are always good and I've noticed that katanas seem to be shinier than others. But I suppose you knew that. Really good job so far
