The texture work here is simply astounding, and the scene is very well composed. Honestly, I can't offer any critique other than keep doing what you're doing!

Wonderful work.
I like how the Hamon is slightlz visible and how shiny the Tsuba is.
You are on a good way to make this a perfect piece.
But since this is a wip, I thought I should tell you as a third observer, that you should change 3 things.
01. The Same-Hada, the skin looks a bit too thick, like made out of plastic.
02. There should be visible a half of the Menuki under the Tsukamaki.
03. The Tsuka-Ito and the Sageo look like plastic-laces. (like handsweat has made them shiny and mseary)
But like I said, all in all it is good.

and there are much much more skilled and talanted people then me, i only do 3d for 3 years, there are people do 10, 20 years in 3D, i sure they are
much better then me, and i guess they earn as well, as well as for me... i'm a poor basterd with no money.

no prob. amm first thank you very much, im glad you liked.
i actully used a cloth simulation droping on a surface, then i just fine tuned it a bit... much faster then modeling fabric, but it doesnt work for everything, just for this kind of things + bump for the fabric material.

yeah, like everything else in maya, it's a bit tricky, to get all the little parameters to work right its most of the time hell.
me my self never tried 3d max, and i think ill pass
