Have a look here [link] There are of course many more but this one (comes in many sizes but I use the 24 inch version) is collapsible just like a reflector and easy to transport.

The tutorial is very interesting! Do you by chance know if Canon EOS camera's are also abit off when it comes to the grayscale?

Argh, I'm getting more and more afraid of being a photographer.
I want to buy a Nikon D70 this year, but it seems there's a Hell lot of things I'll have to learn, and quick.
Thanks for showing these - I hope I can "import" these infos into Photoshop (as I don't have Lightroom, particularly because I don't need it yet) - and I wonder how much American and European standards differ...

You'll learn while shooting That's imo the best way to learn it, from experience. That's how I did it (not that I'm 'good' now but I know alot more)

Wow, awesomeness! Never knew it was underexposing. Informative and cool to watch. Do you have a website please? I would like to view more!!!

It's really just theory but there is a great deal of information suggesting that it's true. It can be seen on the target much easier when shooting in a studio environment where little or no ambient light strikes the target. It happens to me regardless of what lens I am shooting with and my own targets are .5 off perhaps 70 or 80% or the time. Others they might be off by .75 or .25 but that can be accounted to simply underexposing or over exposing the target due to negligence on my part (it happens)
I do understand the concept of 18% reflectance from my print background as it is a standard. the 12 - 13% luminance issue however is just something I have read and looked into and not an area of my own expertise or knowledge. I would however like to know more.

Great tutorial lucky13. I'll deffinately be checking lightroom out.
I don't know if it was just me, but your voice jumps speeds at some points in the video for a split second, making you have a high fast voice at some points, and a deep slow voice at others.

Yeah it was a pain. There was something wrong when rendering the movie. I did it three times but it was messed up each time.

Wow...first I come to your house and listen to you tell me about this stuff...now your on the damn internet too and I got trapped into listening to you again! You're a black hole or something! LOL
So...just wondering...did you basically say that Nikon is not up to standard? Hmmm...what do the Canon's run? LOL Just picking...

Actually I know that Nikon is to standard but the targets aren't
See ya tomorrow if you get to swing by while in town. If not I more than understand.

Ah...so your defending Nikon by blaming the target. Didn't you use the target to correct the 18% gray in Lightroom stating that Nikon was a half stop difference? Sorry, just being a pain in the ass. LOL
I'm not sure if I'll have time to stop by, because and her mother and sister will be with me.
