Awesome tutorial! Only one trouble: I cannot make the object fully transparent using gradients. I mean, the part that should look fully transparent doesn't Any tips?

What program do you use to record your screen videos? I just downloaded CamStudio and the voice doesn't sync up to the video

Same thing. Ive been using CamStudio since version 1 and never had a problem.

Perhaps. I can't say. I wish I could help you out but the program pretty much just runs it's self. I've never had to so anything. other than press "Go"

Do you submit the full .AVI files? I wish I could create something where the person can pause, rewind, fast forward etc

BarryKiddPhotography In reply to KoontzPhotography [2008-07-03 15:59:10 +0000 UTC]

I prefer to upload swf files to deviantARTsince they are so much smaller. My older movies always had controllers but weren't uploaded to DA since we can only upload one file and all the controllers were separate swf files linked with HTML.

The newest version of CamStuido however the controller is built into the final swf so I have finally been able to provide them with the movies here on da.

Another reason for uploading swf files was that, until recently, video was not allowed here on DA but flash or swf was. In fact it was strictly forbidden but the admin sirt of turned a blind eye since I uploaded them as swf rather than avi or mov files.

Good to know DA supports the swf files. I have never worked with them before

Very useful tutorial, thanks for sharing this! I have a question though, is there any way to use these transparent gradients when you finally have to save into an AI8 compatible EPS file without the loss of shapes?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BarryKiddPhotography In reply to medveh [2008-02-27 09:32:25 +0000 UTC]

I just tried it and it looks as though it will give the appearance of a mask but will not keep it. It will basically be an Opaque gradient from your color of choice to white.

medveh In reply to BarryKiddPhotography [2008-02-27 10:48:40 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Barry and I guess there's not too much chance to further edit those opaque gradients.

Very helpful but too many steps and by the time I have to my software open I forget more than half of the steps already. I use to use photoshop and Illustrator but now I switch to Xara Xtreme. It takes about three steps. Draw the black circle, apply the gradient, change the color to anything you like.
