Finally getting the inks uploaded here, and I think they've turned out quite nicely. Obviously the majority of the outlines have been done with the brush pen, and as always I varied the weights of the lines to give more of an impression of weight and depth. I switched to the fine liners for the details of his helmet, armour, and saber hilts, and once these aspects were done I felt that it lacked a little something, so I added in a few areas of hatching to create some less intense shadows that end up adding to the intensity of the whole piece. I dialled down the hatching across the background though, as I felt that it would make the visuals less clear, thus detracting from the piece. I think the current effect works well though, as it acts as a transition from the solid black areas to the smoke I'll be adding with the colours. And speaking of the solid black areas, I think it's pretty obvious that I filled those in using a paint brush and bottled Ink. So yeah, not much more to say on this one until the colours are on it, but I think that so far it's looking pretty decent!
