Australovenator with her two youngsters. Not too happy with the shading on the legs because I had issues in finding out the correct amount of shadow and light. And it took me several rounds to get the shape of the adult and the young more or less right and fitting.Related content

I really like the way you drew this dinosaur family you can see that the feather placement, colours, not to mention this is probally how families of meat eatingΒ dinosaurs worked, and the backround is very accurate because these dinosaurs have been mostly found around rocky and areas with cliffs. Oh my goodness, this is sooooo cute! What inspired you to finally draw some more Megaraptorans, if I may ask? Their coloration reminds me of Travis Tischler's interpretation of Banjo the Australovenator. If you've seen the documentaries Dinosaur Stampede, Monsters in the Outback, or the Time Traveler's Guide to Australia, you might be familiar with his work. He also made illustrations for several papers about Australovenator.
The chicks look just utterly adorable, and I love how the lighting looks, it is very serene. The face of the mother is just too cute as well, and the patterns are just incredibly designed and lovely to see.

Initially, I wanted to make a drawing of an asexual Australovenator for pride month on Tumblr, but I couldn't come up with a patterning based upon the asexual flag and besides of that, I noticed my initial line drawings did look awkward in the given perspective, especially the head underwent several revisions. Hence, I put the drawing aside and went off in another direction, which is now the little family.
I can vaguely recall such an Australovenator (but not the artist's name) with some stripes on its chest, but I mainly had this toy Β in my head.
The little ones may be racing around their mother's legs, before they may become effective hunters. For the background, I wanted to give an impression of humidity with some damp air or a bit of mist in the jungle.Β
