This is amazing! Thank you! Argh, I just wish I'd figured this out sooner - you have no idea how long I've spent trying to manipulate the position of something when I could have just been using PX.

I definitely glad it helped!

Nice Info Tom, I've used post transforms for quite a while. I've always used the "I wonder what would happen if I did this?" approach, lol
I was wondering, Is there a way to activate post transforms for scripts? I haven't found any info on it so far (other than this tutorial).

Yes there is! The difficulty is that you can't translate, rotate, or scale the post transform... at least as far as I know. If you want an example of it, check out the linear disc script in my gallery.

Very nice presentation Tom I love the flame you got here too
I just remember a question regarding post transforms. When I open an old flame that I had created using post transforms the post transform is deactivated for all triangles. If I want to edit the flame I have to re-activate px for every transform and this can be boring if the flame has many transforms. Do you know if there is a short cut to do it?

Unfortunately, I don't. I've dealt with that problem a few times too.

Probably we have to live with it. I just thought I'd ask

Once again, I've got to thank you a bunch for this tutorial. I finally understand how fractalists get the one effect-I usually call it rotating, but it's not the usual rotating obviously. You see it a lot with the Technica scripts. *looks at contest entries* In fact, *live2b 's entry, A Different Perspective has the same type of rotation I'm talking about. I've always wondered how that's done and now I know. Thanks again!

Among other new abilities, of course, but that's the main thing.

Never mind!
Good tutorial! Thank you. I never found I couldn't manipulate other transforms with the PX enabled, but maybe I never tried!

Seems to be working for me... maybe it's taking a long time to load (it's a rather large image)

I got it later. I had almost 300 tabs open in my browser, and that had a lot to do with it. Unfortunately, when I closed and reopened it, it hadn't kept track. So now I have to go through my history and figure out what I had been looking at. I'm trying to do too much.

Are you using Firefox? If so I believe the "Session Fix" extension might be of use to you... I think that's what it's called...

PatGoltz In reply to CabinTom [2007-07-25 10:13:27 +0000 UTC]
I am indeed using Firefox. The "session fix" is what didn't work, unless there's something else I'm not aware of. Usually it keeps track of my tabs. Maybe the reason was that I had 300 tabs open! LOL

CabinTom In reply to PatGoltz [2007-07-26 00:45:21 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, 300 tabs seems to be quite a lot for a small extension to handle. I still can't seem to figure out why on earth you'd need than many though... ??

PatGoltz In reply to CabinTom [2007-07-26 06:11:18 +0000 UTC]
What happens is that I open a tab, don't have time to deal with what's in it, and it stays, and they add up over a period of days.
LOL
I do think 300 is a record, though. The tab list has been a godsend.

You probably shouldn't get a StumbleUpon account then. I've found so many cool sites with that... but sometimes I probably should be doing productive things.

What's StumbleUpon? I stumble upon all kinds of things, so I don't need any help with that!

It's an extension that'll bring you to random websites recommended by other users (these websites are categorized in so that only things your interested in will appear).

Thank you so very much for taking time from your busy schedule to work on this and share it.
