I love it! It's very elegant. It reminds me, a bit of a Japanese theme.

thankyou, and thanks for the fave of course
i do like the oriental style of things but its the most fiddly complicated stuff to model so i took a break from it. perhaps it was still at the back of my mind when i made this.

the petals are a little darker at the centre but most of that is natural shadows from the light. i had forgotten about those pics. my memory is so crap

hehehe oh ^_^ well I think they're cool [the shadows] and I read jonnymorris's comment on the pot's shadow being heavy and you saying u were aiming at a pixar kinda look...

RenderMan isn't free and it's for Maya, not C4D... but it's still the one they use so..
And don't worry, u can forget about those pics again and I'll tell u when those pics come out xD

thanks, im glad you like them
im really not a fan of mayas interface and i havent taught myself all there is to know about c4d yet so i cant see myself switching renderers for that (besides, i dont have the cash). vray has recently come to c4d tho, so perhaps renderman will appear at some point in the future too.
dont worry, ill most definitely forget about the photos. its gotten to the point where i cant even remember what happened this morning :/

Pot seems a bit heavy on the self-shadows, if that makes any sense. Perhaps material is too sheeny.

oh, this ones not meant to be particularly realistic. i wanted to see if i could go for a kinda disney/pixar look without having to sacrifice any of the detail. does the shadowing detract from the image, do you think? im worried that lightening it up would mean the pot doesnt 'op' off the image as much.
