Mechanical bug thing. Ive been wanting to do one of these for some time but never managed to get anywhere on it until now.Modeled & rendered in Cinema4D.
Render time for print size was 7 hours.

I own and have been developing a game where this bug would fit in perfect, would you mind if I put the image into a popular facebook game? but we would only need one change to your image, make the ground just white instead of the grey marble looking floor.

[just a quickie, as usual... this should be an arachnid since it's got 8 legs... insects have 6, with 3 body parts like ur bug.. unless it's a insechnid haha

well, arachnids dont have antennae, whereas insects do, so it must be an insechnid. a bug is actually a particular kind of beetle rather than any old insect/arachnid too, but luckily theres the term bug meaning listening device so that lets me get away with it by this being a piece of technology i think

i intended on making a spider to begin with, thus 8 legs. then i thought an ants head would look better, and then the stripes just seemed to fit with the look of the thing

if i ever get round to doing a showreel kinda thing then ill animate this, but for now i have neither the time nor the patience for it. its probably just that i dont know enough about animation in c4d yet but getting things synced up and repeating premade movements is beyond my abilities right now.
