larger res shadows using soft shadow will make this look nicer but other than that i really like, the floor boards look great and as for the plug socket on the wall, NICE is all i can say!

yea theres something up with the renderer. i normally use area shadows for objects on a surface but this time its hardening them, despite the light being a really long way away. i think some of my prefs got reverted somewhere recently so that could be whats doing it. im glad you like the socket, i just wish i had some reference for the older style ones so i could have made the switches a bit fancier.

It's starting to look really good but your shadows really could use some work. Try using layer masks to make depths in them:

yea the shadows are too hard here, but turning them off damages the depth of the pic even more. cinema4d manages all the shadows to make sure theyre true to the light source, so thats what id use to change them. doing it in post would involve a huge amount of work. anyway, ill work on it
