Description Stardate 2324.5, The original Constitution-Class, U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701) had been decommissioned and sent to the Starfleet Museum Orbital Complex at Earth after a unprecedented eighty years of service as the flagship with in the Federation Starfleet Armada. Planes where slated by Admiral John Kyle-Head of Starfleet Corps of Engineer's to have the U.S.S. Excelsior (NCC-2000) to be refitted prior to construction of newer Excelsior-Class ships to begin replacing the aging Constitution-Class'. All though Fleet Captain Hikaru Sulu had a hand in the designing of the Excelsior's refit, Sulu decided to retire from Starfleet in order to spend more time with is grandchildren.
  By Stardate 2326.5, The Excelsior completed it's refit at the 40-Eridoni A Shipyards at Vulcan and command fell to Hikru's daughter, Captain Demora Sulu. Fleet Admiral Chekov sent a privet communique to Captain Sulu, telling her..."It wouldn't be the Excelsior, without a Sulu in command."

Nice rework of the words that Captain Kirk said to her when the Canon Enterprise B was launched at the beginning of Star trek Generations (the Movie before the Enterprise E films.). "It wouldn't be the Enterprise, without a Sulu at the helm."
