Description
The Magee-Class Scout was originally launched in 2238 as a long-range expiatory science vessel prior to the Oberth-Class. In 2262, Starfleet began refitting various classes of ships in order to prolong their lives for the next ten years. In 2264, after the USS Enterprise narrowly survived its encounter with the galactic barrier, the Federation Science Council dispatched the USS Hunley under the command of Captain Sonia Deering to investigate the phenomenon but not to cross it. After spending thirty days of null readings, Captain Deering advised Starfleet that no Federation Vessel approach the barrier under any circumstances until more advanced technology be implemented for sensors and navigation systems.______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
