Beautiful as always, Greg! And is that the zodiacal light that I see angling upward and a little bit leftward from the brightest spot on the horizon?

Thank you very much Yeah there is a hint of Zodiacal there. Not the best time of year to capture it. In a couple of months it will be a lot more prominent

What is that blue thing on the right side of the tree? A nebula?
And like always: Awesome work!

Thank you very much It is the Small Magellanic Cloud (The Large Magellanic Cloud is just off to the right of frame) which is a dwarf satellite galaxy of our own Milky Way.

Not a bad guess but it is the Small Magellanic Cloud (The Large Magellanic Cloud is just off to the right of frame) which is a dwarf satellite galaxy of our own Milky Way.

reason i said andromeda is that in low light pollution areas it actually looks much bigger than people think.

I'd put my bets on its being the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Ah, that makes more sense! Now I can match up your stars with the ones in my own night sky picture from Australia (taken at an entirely different sidereal time, when the two Magellanic clouds were roughly at the same altitude as each other, and higher than the celestial south pole). Thanks!
