I'm not sure. I have never tried using white chalk. IF you do try it let me know how it works out.

hmm... well I had a try, seems like when you go to put the final layer of glaze on the top, the chalk kind of dissolves so you lose that 'sugary' effect.
But maybe I just don't put the glaze on gently enough...

Sculpey and Fimo actually sell little sampler packs. They come with all the colors you could need and then some. It's a great gift for any beginner.

I buy my clay from local craft stores like Michael's and AC Moore. But if those stores aren't near you there are a lot of sites on-line that sell polymer clay.

It seems to be the best way. Other white powders (like baby powder) don't seem to work as well.
