whoa so that's how you blend two colours without totally messing them up into a ball of... asdgfsdlf XD.
and just curious, one of my friends wants me to make a charm for her, and its like a heart with wings; she wants me to make the wings with wire (im using copper wire), and sticking them into the clay heart, then baking it... is it okay to bake copper wire w/ the clay, or should i find an alternative way/material?

chat-noir In reply to aznboardergirl [2008-09-14 03:37:36 +0000 UTC]
It is perfectly safe to bake your copper wire in the clay. Copper wire is really easy to bend though, so the wings might get misshapen easily. You might want a stringer wire instead.

Question: When you put all your little food items on your pre-made plates, is there any trick you have to making the sculpey stick together? So that when you bake it the different food doesn't break off of the plate too easily? Besides the obvious technique of pressing it together real good, I mean.

chat-noir In reply to RandomAdj [2008-07-27 23:36:10 +0000 UTC]
Liquid clay is a great way to stick clay items together. Just dab some in between the two objects before baking.

The fimo brand liquid I had to buy on-line because the stores in my area only sell the sculpey brand one. That one isn't as transparent.

Oh wow... It looks so yummy... *get hungry* Oh... And I see... you bought Eberhard Faber Fimo Things in Germany. Am I right? What do you think about it?
π: 0 β©: 1
chat-noir In reply to Shanee [2008-07-24 17:28:37 +0000 UTC]
I actually bought the Fimo liquid on-line while still in the states. I wanted to review it in my polymer clay article here: [link]
I really like liquid fimo, it is much clearer and more flexible than the sculpey version.

Oh ok... I don't know that you can buy Eberhard Faber Stuff in the States, because it's a really German product. So ... I'm really surprised!
