Ah, its been a while since I did a full on colored 2d pic. Feels refreshing and odd at the same time.

I seem to have taken a lot of techniques from the 3d realm and put them back into 2d; Atmospheric lighting, ambient occlusion, texture mapping, compositing (although technically that happens in 2d anyway)... I guess its just another step along the way as far as style development goes. =]

Anyway, here is an overdue gift request for a very close friend of mine who has historically had the ability to come up with the some of most compelling reasons to make me draw for him. He always seems to deliver just the right amount of descriptive detail and enthusiasm to make the picture easy and enjoyable to do.

So yeah, character design, concept and vision goes entirely to him and his sources. I just had the pleasure of translating it to paper. Enjoy!
