Description
Note: Backgrounds were borrowed from google search results of a local institution of greed and hatred; poses were borrowed from a few particular scenes from Dragon Age 2.... So I checked my bank account yesterday, only to find that all $.50 had been robbed of me and in it's place, a taunting ($9.49) had been slipped in...
Citizen's Bank has this horrible habit of charging their customers for not spending their money. Unless you make five or more transactions a month, (something pretty hard to do with fifty cents,) you are charged. Recently, that charge was bumped up from $5 to $10. Unbeknownst to me, however, they also decided to start putting in that charge for people who didn't even have that much in the account...
Right. So righteously furious, I steamed over the matter, imagining all of the pleasantly dramatic speeches I could make to settle this, once and for all. They would retract that fee. They would close my account. They would... Oh you get the picture.
Suffice to say, they didn't do any of those things. I wound up paying for it, anyway. At least that's the last I'll be dealing with them...
So no, world. Video games do not inspire violence. Just fantasies of violence... And awkward speeches about the injustice that Templars Magisters Banks shew upon their innocent mages slaves customers... Ahem!

If modern civilization were to totally go south, then we humans would revert back to these warrior type ways.

With banks running their business this way, don't be surprised if it does. XD

You know, I just realized, in the 'Le Fenris Heart Ripper' scene the dude looks SO MUCH like the Emperor of Cyrodiil. From the Elder Scrolls Universe. Odd...

I know the feeling. Before I switched banks, my old one had this habit of hitting me with $15 go-plus fees, taking out EVERYTHING I had in there, then hitting me with another fee because the first fee had emptied my account!

That's incredibly poor business practice... Yet that's exactly how my bank was running things! Like some elaborate scam. Who knew corporate thievery could be legalized so badly?

Makes me glad I switched banks. If necessary, I can drain my account to almost nil and no fees. Makes my life much easier.

but why dont you swap the bank? o_O thye cant really forbid that, even if it may take a few months of cancelling thingy...
insane that the bank could do that to you..is that even legal? o_o lol...guess there wont be much prosecuting either though, wiht o,50....

It's "legal" because they changed the policy to make it so. Unfortunately, I didn't actually see the letter they sent out, I was only made aware that the monthly fee increased -- not that they would start charging accounts with less than the amount of the fee. And since I didn't make five transactions in the past month (with fifty cents, are you kidding!?) ... They took it out.
I intend to swap banks. Sadly, my bank would not even let me close the account until THEIR fee was zero'd out -- meaning I had to pay the ridiculous inactivity fee, first. Not sure where they expected me to get it since they took it from an account that didn't have it in the first place. ><

well i'm sure you will be able to scratch together 10 bucks, no? but then you really should go get something proper, and read the letters they send you O_O..like thats always important..at least fly over it..
we dont have such things here..at least my bank doesnt anyway..i'm already annyoed they charge me in general for having an account and thats just a few cents i'd think seeing how tehy can use my money on their redicolous betting games, tehy might as well give me interests! doing something wrong here..but too lazy to change it myself XD
stupid *beep* banks..

I was able to borrow it.
The issue is that I didn't actually receive the letter, and I had no idea that the change went beyond an increase in the fee. But I know better than to argue about whether I got a letter or whatnot; having worked in customer service for a television company for a few years, I heard no complaint more frequently, and there just wasn't much we could do about it. It's the customer's responsibility to mystically know about changes or letters they "should" have gotten and whatnot.
It irritates me more that they'd make such a change in the first place. Regardless of what is legal, I don't think it's right. But that's the classic dilemma between justice and law. What ought to be and what is. But bank employees aren't paid to wax poetically on the injustices of such policies; They're paid to do the gruntwork and pretend like they agree with it.
Ultimately, even the best of my fantasies weren't worth that argument, because I really wasn't face to face with the person who decided all of this, just the person who was being paid to pretend like she did.

the only thing they charge you for is if you bounce a check. And no matter what credit union you choose as your own you will be able to get free ATM at any other credit union. They're networked. They also have great rates on loans and credit cards usually. Anyway, good luck whichever you choose.

That does sound good.
Previously, my bank let me use a debit card as a credit card, without actually having a credit card. Do you know if unions (in general) also allow this, without additional credit fees?

Yes I have one no extra charges at all. Basically visa just insures the transactions you make straight out of your checking. No interest charges.

So...they think they are playing like the BIG BOYS. *cough cough cough Wells Fargo cough cough cough*
Wait...
*cough cough cough Bank of America [link] cough cough cough*
There is a local based bank in Lubbock who is merging with a bank out of Austin, Texas. The local bank is decent, and this has the local customers afraid as Bank of America and Wells Fargo got into Lubbock by buying local banks.

I think something similar happened here. My bank was bought out, and it all went down from there. Maybe it's time to look into a credit union...

It's true. Unfortunately, it's also full of greedy men who will change a company's policy at the drop of the pin just to milk their customers for everything they're worth -- thus tempting them to make such speeches! Haha.
