Dale was a student at Magic Academy. In the relative safety of his room, he cast a spell to contact other magical beings. He was hoping to meet someone from another place, another time, or even another realm. Carefully he followed the instructions and opened up a magic portal. A girl about his age stepped out. She introduced herself as Dorthy and explained she was an exchange student.

"Exchanged for what?" asked Dale, attempting a joke. Dorthy did not find it funny but laughed anyway.

"Hand me an article of clothing and I will show you what I can do," insisted Dorthy.

Dale removed one of his shoes and handed it to her. Dorthy gave a shoe back to him. It was a girl's shoe. The shoe sparkled in the light which made him feel really good. He gave her his other shoe and ended up with a matching pair. He did the same thing with his socks and received knee length purple socks with vertical socks.

"Can you do that with other things?" wondered Dale.

"I can do that with anything," Dorthy replied.

Next, Dale handed Dorthy a notebook. She gave him a notebook in return. The words inside were the same but the handwriting was different. It was as if she had written the exact same things he had written.

Dale was not going to remove any more clothing in front of her. Fortunately, he was in his room so he had plenty of extra clothing available. He handed her all of his clothes one at a time. Each of them become more feminine, fancier, and more sparkly. This fascinated him. He could no longer take it so he went into the bathroom and changed clothes. Then he handed Dorthy the remainder of his clothes.

With all Dale's clothing transformed, he handed Dorthy various objects in his room at an ever accelerating pace. The more things he gave her, the more things he wanted to give her. He started with small objects like pens and ended with large objects like furniture. All she had to do was touch it and it was replaced with its feminine and more expensive equivalent. Eventually all the objects in his room had been transformed.

Looking at all the fancy sparkling feminine things in his room, Dale realized this was not enough. Something was still missing, the most important thing of all. Realizing what it was he gave Dorthy himself. Dorthy and Dale entered the portal together. Only Dorthy returned. She identified as an exchange student but what she was exchanged for remained a mystery.
